God Bless all of those who gave their lives on that tragic day.

We never forget.

I would honestly exclude from my blessings those ones who made them give their lives.

Prayers to those who lost their lives, to those who survived and to their familes and friends whose lives are forever affected.

I'll never forget that morning. I had been at work the night before, and one of the day ladies came in and said, "Did you hear what happened? A plane hit the World Trade Center." I thought it was some little plane that clipped the building and thought no more about it til I was driving home. All the local radio stations had interrupted their zany morning shows and cut to the network tv news coverage. A reporter was trying to make clear to the hosts that an entire building had collapsed. I went to my parents' house, which was closer, and watched in horror the thing unflolding live on tv. Later when I was leaving to go home and I stepped outside, I noticed that there was not a sound to be heard anywhere. No airplanes of course, but also no traffic sounds, no stereos, not even birds in the trees. It was a clear almost cool sunny morning--unusual for Houston in September-- and I just felt this weird chill. :afraid2:

That's when I started listening to the Beatles again.

Here is the thread at B-Links that discussed the events as they unfolded.

World Trade Center Thread (http://www.beatlelinks.net/forums/showthread.php?t=16154&highlight=world+trade+center)

It would be wonderful if we spent a few minutes out of our day in silence, in honor of all the brave men and woman that have perished as a result of the grotesque acts that occurred on the fateful day. Also, our thoughts should go out to the many varied troops that subsequently have sacrificed their lives in combat, and the innocent lives that have unwittingly come into harms way.

Never Forget. 9-11-01

May we never forget our brothers and sisters who lost their lives on that day.

May we never forget the heroes who risked their lives so that others would live.

And may we never forget: Six years later, while our troops continue to lose their lives in Iraq for reasons George W. Bush can't quite explain, Osama Bin Laden still has not been brought to justice.

God forgive us.

May we NEVER forget....

.... and we do not need God's forgiveness. The United States of America was not in Iraq - nor Afghanistan - on September 11th, 2001. After those unprovoked attacks occured, the rules changed. The gloves had to come off.

Peace through might, not weakness.

There seems to be some controversy about what really brougnt down the WTC towers. And 62Hofner you are speaking in cherished half-truths, to describe the attacks of 911 as unprovoked is uncourageous and deceitful.

My thoughts of love are with all the families of victims. Its just awful how many people died on that day, and since.

Peace through might, not weakness.

In the end can something really as wonderful as peace EVER be brought through "might"?? I don't think so. Violence only brings about more violence. Negative vibrations attract more negative vibrations.

I don't see why mankind can't just learn how to play nice... :sad1:

I agree Looney_leo. This idea of escalating until there is no tomorrow just doesn't seem to work, and leaves the fate of mankind hanging in the bargain.

I'll never forget that day. I was walking home from school and my friend told me that terrorists had attacked the WTC. I didn't think anything of it until I saw it on the news with the planes flying into the towers and everything collapsing to rubble. I know it sounds like a cliche but that was the defining moment of the 21st century and everyone knew it.

If (as we've been told) Osama is in Afghanistan, then our troops need to be in Afghanistan, not Iraq.

And yes, Dubya and the rest of the Bush Crime Family DO NEED God's forgiveness for all their lies that have cost us all so many lives.

Peace through TRUTH.

I also so much remember that day. I was working at the time for a US company and came back to the Rotterdam office in the afternoon and someone at the parking lot said a small plane hit the World Trade Center so then I walked in and 'everyone' was watching the news and we tried to contact the main New York office.

So many of my colleagues died.

A memorial book was made and it is sad and beautiful to have that.

A year after that I was in New York and was at Ground Zero and whitnessed the feeling it has to go there, be there.

The innocent people in NYC,the Pentagon, on the planes and the field in Pennsylvania will never be forgotten, I do pray for some peace in spirit for their family members! My deepest thanks to all who were there to help and offer some comfort.... It's still tough to watch the videos of the TTs collapsing..... My brother drove supplies into NYC a few days later(after the bombing) and said it was unbelieveable to see the damage and loss! My hats off to the police and fire depts; I do pray for their health, seems many of them are having many health problems pop up since 2001.

What Lynner said.

Prayers to all who lost loved ones and the ones who lost their lives.

I for one don't want revenge. I don't wish suffering and cruelty on anyone; I want to bandage wounds, not inflict them.

My church has been really good about sending relief to those directly involved. Some kids on my street were selling lemonade so they could send money to those directly affected. There was a toy and blanket collection drive on my street. That's the kind of thing I want to see more of, people going to bat for one another instead of seeking revenge.
