CBS) Pattie Boyd was a swinging '60s model when something in the way she moved attracted a Beatle who wrote a song about her. So did a guitar god who became obsessed with her. She is the real "Layla" from Eric Clapton's song and was the muse in the middle of rock's most famous love triangle.

"The whole episode is incredibly painful," she told CBS News correspondent Anthony Mason.

Now, for the first time, the ex-wife of two music icons is talking. In her new book, "Wonderful Tonight," — that Clapton song was written about her, too — Boyd is finally adding her own lyrics to her story.

The daughter of a British air force pilot, Boyd was a 20-year-old model in 1964 when her agent told her to report to London's Paddington station to play a bit part in the Beatles film "A Hard Day's Night." It was a role that changed her life forever.

Learn more about Pattie Boyd's life this Sunday Morning at 9 a.m. ET.

Wow, I came across this thread this morning, immediately turned on my TV and the report was just starting; what are the odds?

It was interesting enough; nothing very revelatory to me. The most interesting part, in my humble opinion, was that Pattie, in the first draft, wouldn't name Maureen as the one with whom George was having an affair; but the report claims that Pattie eventually decided to name Maureen after asking and receiving Ringo's approval to do so.

Yeah it would really have been such a miss if that part would not have been in the book....... so hurray to Pattie for making the effort after all for another spicey edit, I am sure her friends and the nephews and nieces for whom she says the book was published are thrilled to have that in as well, must be awesome to review it round the Xmas trees this year.

For Beatles people it is old news but nice to read someone else's name for a change in stead of Layla's. (Oh yes Eric invited me to his private appartment to listen to a new song...he did that all the time when he wrote a new song and ofcourse I was always the one he wanted to play it to and ofcourse I always wondered my me me me me me)

Oh btw jesgear this is not adressed to you ofcourse :smile1:

she says at one point "I just felt as if I had been stabbed in the heart" about when Eric told her that his g/f was expecting a baby (son).

Well even though this interview is not really bad I think, I do wonder if she has talked to Olivia about the book, just like she asked Ringo for advise about mentioning Maureen's name or not.

There are one or two rare pics of George here to be seen.

She is so proud still of Layla "I know it was for me...and I like that"

Thanks for the video.
So it's official, George cheated on Pattie with Maureen.
I remember Peter Brown saying that in his book and getting criticised for it.But he was only telling the truth!

I didn't know that with Maureen was being questioned... it's been brought up elswhere in a book or in books and if I am not mistaken Ringo has referred to it too, long before George passed.

FPSHOT

No, because the Anthology book was not meant for trash talk like that, I think?

She's in People magazine this week too. Nothing special though. It's part of the Books section and all they really do is ask her 3 questions that dont give out much info about it. She did say that George made her happier though. (why? Well, cuz they asked her who made her happier)
