Aug 20 2007

Wales Millennium Centre, Cardiff
THE John Lennon Exhibition returns to Wales for the first time in 20 years next weekend.
The travelling exhibition moves around the world under the control of the Lennon estate and offers fans and collectors the chance to buy limited edition lithographs and copper etchings of hand written sketches by the man himself.
“John Lennon went to art school in Liverpool when he was younger and he always meant for his art to be displayed and sold and we are delighted to be able to have a part in that,” said gallery owner Daphne Morrisson.
“The original works we have will not be on display but if people want to come down and ask about them or purchase them then we can arrange an appointment to do so.”
The gallery has already taken one foray into the music world when it showed a series of Robbie Williams related works in December 2006 and hopes to make further strides in that direction in the future.
“In the run up to Christmas we plan to have a lot more original works from well known people in the rock world.”
The John Lennon Exhibition opens at the Your Space Your Art gallery at Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff Bay on Saturday, August 25 when for the admission price of £10 you will receive a free Lennon poster and refreshments. Children under 16 go free. After that the exhibition is free to view and the gallery is open from noon until 5pm Tuesday to Saturday. Call 029 2019 0019 for more information or to book a private viewing.
