Oh, so now the BBC can't portray incidents based on reality - things that have actually occured in Great Britain - for fear of offending a certain group who are guilty (in part) for allowing, what is basically a disease, to fester unchecked and now plagues the entire free world?

Instead of worrying about offending Muslims, the BBC should have kept to the original story line. But, I guess Animal Rights Activists are a "safer" target for fiction?

Appeasement doesn't work. Facing reality head-on is what works.

P.S. I hear there's going to be a re-mastered edition of "Schindler's List" released on DVD soon! Thru technological advances in editing, all Nazis are going to be replaced with Aliens from the planet Neptune in order to avoid offending Germans.

...or change characters of the "Godfather" to avoid offending Italians ... :laugh2:

I completely agree with you.

I think it's ridiculous that you can't portray real life situations in a drama for fear of offending people of that race or creed!! Why change an entire story line, I know Muslims and they can't see what the problem is, actions like this cause more anamosity toward these groups!!

Exactly! By doing things like changing realistic plot lines to avoid offending a group, you're basically saying, "we need to hide this about all of you!"... when it's not about ALL of them.

The really sad part is that not all terror attacks are Islam-based. Actually... I might even go so far as to say that even attacks carried out in the name of Islam are not Islam-based, since the Koran does not condone violence. Political Islam is the only quasi-Islamic ideology I know of where violence is considered necessary for the advancement of the religion, but the peaceful promotion of Islam is much more common, though the media chooses not to portray it (peaceful preaching doesn't sell papers; explosions do).

Basically, by changing their storyline (which could have been done by anyone; since when does a terror attack have to be "from" anywhere other than violent individuals?) and saying they did so to avoid offending Muslims, they have made a blanket statement that all terror attacks are linked to Muslims exclusively (otherwise, why would they be offended?). It's pathetic, really.

... then, again, we are talking about people who rioted and called for people's heads over a few flippin' cartoons!

I hear a lot about how Islam is a religion of peace. I don't know enough about it to say one way or another. You are right that the news plays a large roll in perceptions.

All religions have or have had their militant wings at one time or another. But the Muslim problem is the world's biggest problem today. You take the Islamic terrorist out of the equation.... and the world gets a whole lot more peaceful mighty quick!

This is a joke and part of the BBC's misbegotten "political correctness" and its liberal bias. The programme "Spooks" showed a terror attack apparently committed by Muslims but in the plot it turned out that the terrorists were Israeli agents. This fits in perfectly with the BBC's bias against the state of the Israel. It also shows how "the West" has lost the battle for freedom against radical Islam.
