Anthology On DVD?

Somebody e-mailed me and asked if the Anthology was ever, or will ever, be released on DVD. Anybody have a clue?

I'm sure somewhere down the road they'll end up doing just that. I wouldn't be surprised if it happens before this year ends.

If it came out on DVD I would definitely have to acquire it. Heck if I had the money and I found it on VHS I'd get it. You can only borrow the same video from the library so many times before they start looking at you oddly.

Yeah, I know what you mean, friend. I've gotten that look more than once. When the Beatles' Anthology tapes were at Blockbuster, I checked them out every other week and you can "Imagine" the looks I got.

Heck, I could only check out 3 at a time, so you KNOW who rented those tapes frequently! Now you can't even get them at Blockbuster!

I think I also got a few looks because I walked out the door whistling "She Loves You." That may have accounted for some of the glances my way...

Yeah, I can empathize with you there, HeyBeatle. (cool name you got). I ran into the same problem at the library that I did at Blockbuster. It got so I couldn't even borrow the tapes at other branches. Something to do with giving others a turn. Yeah, well, I can understand that, but you know what I mean. Those Anthology tapes are what Beatles fans have long been praying for!

I also think the librarian cast a glance or two my way because I whistled "She Loves You" after I checked out...there seems to be a high positive correlation between odd looks you get and the number of times you hum, sing or whistle Beatles tunes publicly. Just a theory...

I heard it was suppose to be coming out soon, along with a remastered copy of Let It Be. I hope so. A while back i heard the Anthology set was suppose to be released on less tapes, and be a cheaper price.

I think your theory is true, but I revel (sp?) in those looks. It's great having people stare especially when you are singing and doing a little dance to Day Tripper at McDonalds, of course that is just a scenario http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/wink2.gif . I went to the library a few days ago and they took the Beatles Anthology of the shelf because it was missing a few tapes I was so PO'd. And at Blockbuster for months they have had the old Hard Day's Night VHS box just sitting there but I'm guessing that it is either on a waiting list or someone stole/"lost" the one copy you could rent. It makes me mad, I think I'll go to Hollywood video see if they have a copy in stock and if they do I'll get a membership to that place.

lol I bet a Beatles fan stole the AHDN tape and claimed it as lost. Some places will sell a lost tape for a cheaper price.

Me thinks your idea is correct of course that Beatle fan wouldn't be able to show offthe movie in their collection cause they would be missing the tapes true cover.

Before I moved to the Lone STARR State, some rat swiped the "Help"! video from my local library. Irate Beatle fans were ready to get into forcing the culprit to return the purloined video. The librarians were the ones who said the video had been pilfered. How cruel to deprive avid fans of a much needed fix! http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/angry6.gif

Now the libraries in my current town don't even have the Anthology. I wish they'd bring it back -- it was such a well deserved treat that delighted all.

I've never given a McDonald's performance, but I have been caught humming, singing or whistling Beatle songs in public. That has caused for some rather embarrassing moments by some not so enlightened or tolerant folks.

If enough serious fans flood the place with letters, telephone calls and oral requests, they just might see why it would be in everyone's collective best interests to bring back those Beatle videos! Just a thought.
