"Let it Be" the movie

Anyone know if there is a re-release of "Let it Be, The movie" on the way... haven't seen it although I've been looking for it for years...

Careful, fellas.Let it Be wasn't released "oficially".I was tempted to pick up a bootleg at Beatlefest(every tape case I saw was different)but thought the better of it.If you're gonna pay full price for a copy,I think it's best to wait for a liscensed copy if you're looking for the best quality.(And our heroes naturally receive the royalties,as well)

As with all stuff from Apple, we have to wait and usually it's worth it. I bought a copy at a record fair for $20 and it was straight from tv ADDS AND ALL.

No, it was released officially, but back in 1981. And it was awful film quality. Paul says it's due for release, but thats all, no strict date.

I've read somewhere that it hasn't been re-released "officialy" because "it brings back painful memories to George Harrison". I don't remember where I read that, but I'm sure I did. Anybody know something about this? (Probably FPSHOT will know).

I would think they would put "Let it Be" on DVD just like, Help! Yellow Sub, MMT, and the newest AHDN, all of which I own (pre-orderd AHDN) and they are all really good.

The 1982 video issue was Canadian Fox,and was quickly withdrawn,and i beleive is the source for many of the boots.
I did see it once in a theartre and there too the quality wasn't good,as it was blown up from the size of film for a TV documentary(which it was inteneded to be) to the size needed for a film.
Originally it was to be a documentary for TV of the rehewarsals for a concert,then for them recording their next LP,then when it was found they owed UA a movie,a conema issue.

i don't think the average person could understand or appriciate the movie let it be. it was played alot in midnight movie houses in the usa in the 70's. every time i watched it i noticed something about their tense and straining relationship. i never could find it on tape though.

I have been seeing LIB on ebay. There is a new remastered version that they sent out for promotional use when they released Beatles "1". I hope that means they are closer to reissuing it! There is also talks of releasing the Anthology 8 tape set on dvd and on 3 or 4 tapes and making it cheaper.

I would love to have a copy of LIB, as well as MMT. If they condense the Anthology tapes to 3-4, won't that mean that parts of it will be edited out?

Am I the only one who had generous parents' in the early 80's? Let it Be was released on video in '81. My parents bought me a copy (this was when videos were about $60 - $80 apiece) The quality is pretty good. I think they took it off the market in the mid-80's. I haven't heard anything definate as to when it will be released again. Hope it's soon, tho'.

We're planning on getting together during the week to check it out. Also to let you know that with two kids and a husband, making copies of tapes is not a top priority, but I will get it done. I got a copy of a copy on ebay last year for $10. I'm looking into buying an actual copy now. I am also tying to get the Anthology 8 tape set. www.reel.com (http://www.reel.com) has it on back order, but I don't know how long I would have to wait.
