AHDN is coming back out!

I was talking to my music teacher the other day and he told me the coolest thing, they are going to put AHDN out again after the clean it up a bit, but he also said that it's only going to be in a few citys in the U.S.A. I don't know about if it will be out any were else in the world, but it should be out by the end of this year.

I was told when I was in London at the beginning of the year that it was getting all cleaned up and re-released so no doubt there will be a UK release as well. The guy also told me that they were planning on doing that to Let It Be too a few months following AHDN.
I bet we won't get either in NZ....

All I know is it will be released on DVD and VHS, I think,in March of 2001 or so it says at Amazon.com. But if it comes to the theaters nywhere near where I live I am going to see it opening night.

AHDN was reviewed again by the N.Y. critics and (again) received FOUR STARS! Really, now, what did they expect? Did they think its appeal, great music and good fun would wane through the years? It's a classic, and will remain so forever. As a matter of fact, four stars aren't enough, in my humble, unbiased opinion!

There was a review in Entertainment Weekly and the person who reviewed it said it was just a as good as the 25 or so times he/she when it first came out.

Personally I'm on the edge of my seat waiting to find out when it will be in my area.

Sorry my info last week was wrong - it's at the Century theatres in Chicago rather than Piper's Alley. Went on Saturday afternoon and loved it, of course. You can spot the Beatles fans in the audience by the fact that we laugh BEFORE the jokes rather than after! I'd encourage anybody to go - the Century theatres are pretty new and have great sound and stadium seating (good for us short chicks). Word is that it will be playing for a couple weeks, but you know how things change.....

Dude, tomorrow is Thursday and I can't wait. No, I'm not some Thursdays fanatic, but tomororw is when I see AHDN @ The Charles Theatre (http://www.thecharles.com) here in Baltimore. My grandmother wants to see it, and knowing how much i love it, asked me to join her. Oh a warning for going to the Charles theatre, when we went there on saturday charles street headingnorth from the inner harbor area is all blocked for the few blocks right before the the 1700 block which its on so if you take that route be careful.

Thanks for the warning, HeyBeatle. I knew about it though :] I was down there about a month ago @ the Everyman Theatre (my friend was performing as Abigail in "The Crucible")

That's so cool that your grandmother liked it! That's what's great about that movie; you don't HAVE to be a flaming Beatles fan to appreciate it. When I saw it last week with my group of 30-something friends, there was an older couple sitting near us chuckling and two girls with green hair sitting behind us giggling and sighing - truly a multigenerational crowd!!

For anybody in the Chicago area (I know there are a bunch of us), the Pickwick Theatre in Park Ridge is going to show "AHDN" on March 16th - it's a benefit for the Pickwick Preservation Society and I'm not sure, but I've heard rumors it's only $10. This also includes a pre-movie performance by a local (but very good) tribute band.

Just went to see AHDN at the local movie house. I thought it was supposed to be remastered but the picture quality didn't impress me too much. Even the sound was no better than previous, but then it was a very small theater and possibly the sound system was not a modern one. On the plus side, I think that I saw a few scenes that I don't remember seeing on the DVD from a few years ago, such as George almost tripping over a speaker (I think) so I guess I'll have to pop the DVD in and see if it compares to the one I just saw.

Anyway, the way I see it, anytime I get a chance to see AHDN (or Help!, for that matter) in a theater it's an opportunity too good to pass up.

IF anybody lives in the central Pennsylvania area it's playing at Point of View in Millersville. I would very strongly suggest that you go and see it even if you've seen AHDN a million times. You haven't seen AHDN till you've seen John flutter his eyelashes

AHDN was shown in theaters throughout the Lone STARR State from December until Beatles Day, February 7, 2001. I went to see it twice when it was showing in my local theater and both times I couldn't help wishing the theater had been packed with a bunch of enthusiastic Beatle fans! It was fun for me because I know all the lines and songs. Years ago when it came on television, it used to drive my poor mother BANANAS that I'd say the lines along with the Beatles (and others). By the time I was in middle school, I knew the movie by heart. Aaaah, thank goodness for Blockbuster, videos/DVDs!
