Happy Labor Day to industrious Beatlelinkers everywhere!

Stop "working like a dog" and tell us what you're going to do,
or if you HAVE to work, what you would LIKE to do on this day! :smile1:

It looks like rain here, so I'll just putz around the house,
doing little home projects and being crafty in general! :devious:

Happy Labor Day! Not doing too much today, just maybe having the in-laws over; not sure what I'm making though. It's supposed to be raining on and off all day, so if we cook on the grill, it will have to be between raindrops!

Great editorial cartoon, Georgie...all too true.

I'm going to see an Andy Warhol exhibit at Balboa Park with my significant other. Good luck with your crafts! :teeth1:

Ah Labour day.... it always depresses me a bit, because its always the last day of the summer holidays.... but two months is a good stretch if I do say so, lol. I've really not done anything so far. I'm gonna do some baking in a bit.

I'm really not looking forward to tomorrow!! Grade 12....thats a scary thought.

I just got back from camping all weekend. So pretty much today I'm just resting (after packing up camp, unloading all the gear and putting it away after getting home, mowing the lawn...wait a minute, I thought I didn't have to work today!).

If we get the day off then shouldn't it be called "No Labor Day"??

Slept way in today. Did laundry. Cleaned out the litterbox (how does such a little cat create so much ...?). Put some suet in the bird feeder and realized what a nice day out it is, so I'm sitting on the balcony with some music on and a bottle of tea at my side and am BeatleLinking.

Yesterday was my 'enjoy time off' day. Went to Borders bookstore and Internetted for a bit, read a few magazines and enjoyed a lemonade. Then I went to Applebee's for a meal while I read the magazine I'd purchased (about Syd Barrett). Went home and watched a movie (Collateral), read a bit of a book (Bob Dylan's Chronicles) and went to bed.

It's been a pleasant weekend so far (other than cleaning the litterbox).

I'm almost never lazy, but I kinda was today. Slept till 10:15, played on the computer a bit, then went for a walk, bought some books, some stuff to strip and refinish my dining room table, and a new watch. Went to the grocery store and got stuff to make chili, then came home and watched all last week's soap operas that I taped when I was out of town. Made and ate the chili and am now playing on the computer again, while watching a MASH marathon.

Hey, my company only gets SIX holidays a year, so don't begrudge me today. :wink1:

I suppose I could mention the little bit of excitement I had this weekend as well.

We were on a boat that caught fire out on Lake Michigan. My husband and brother-in-law were able to put it out before it sank....but it was a closer call than the passengers were aware of.

I agree...that is why I had to take a day off, after vacation, lol. I knew it would be a rough weekend, but better to do this on a four day weekend than a 2-3 day, right? ! Now I spend the day getting the usual weekend stuff done before work tomorrow. Of course I have to throw in an emergency trip to the vet :( came home to find one of the cats has an infected chin again....grumble grumble..poor baby.

It was an electrical fire....on a 35 foot boat (not too sure about what type....power, but with a cabin....you know, a normal type ;) )
