hi, just finished watching my dvd of the concert for george. i bought it when it 1st came out, yet it still chokes me up a little, in different parts of the show.

what a fantastic concert it woz, probably the best concert i've seen, along with the roger waters 'the wall' concert in berlin. you can really feel the love all the musos have for george.

my fave part is when ringo comes out, the audience love him too, and paul.

i'm 47 yrs old, and the beatles mean so much to me. i only have to see old b/w clips of them and a tingle goes down my spine, even after all these years.

i wonder why that is? i wonder why i get emotional when i do see ringo walk out on that stage? .........crazy........

i often wonder why the band stirs up all these feelings and emotions. they broke up so many yrs ago. i never tire of their music either. they really do have such a wide appeal for people from every country in the world. no other band has achieved that, have they?

also i can honestly say that i've only met a handful of people over the yrs who claim they don't like the beatles' music, which is amazing when you think of it.

woops....i'm really rambling, aren't i? :cool1:

Yeah Concert for George is just fantastic...I get all excited and emotional when I watch my DVD of it because I remember how wonderful it was to actually be there in person....that has to be up there with best things I have ever experienced in my life. And that is rather ironic really, since it was a sad event....but a happy sad event if you know what i mean....hmmm I think I have caught the rambling bug!

Amoungst my fav bits of the night were the introductions for both Ringo and Paul....knowing they were about to step before me so v v v exciting!! Also the bit where everyone joined in with Paul on Something was fab. And I thought Tom Petty was great.
The whole thing is just so wonderful.

I know exactly what you mean. I'm 51, and I still get that same feeling when I see any old b/w clips of them, or when I watch the DVD of the Ed Sullivan Shows. Such a long time ago, but I remember exactly how I felt seeing them for the 1st time.
And as for the Concert for George - it's one of my favorite DVD's to watch. It's such a wonderful Tribute to George, and seeing them all perform George's songs is just beautiful. I love when Paul tells the story of how George used to bring the ukelele out; I love watching Dhani - just everything! Great concert.

Joe Brown closing the show with I'll See You In My Dreams does it for me.

I was just watching VCR tape 3 of Anthology series, and I got misty and said aloud "Put that cigarette down, George!" :smoking2:

Concert for George is a great film. I never tire of watching - and playing guitar along with the songs. :laugh5:

I have to echo the Dogman. I think those tingles will remain a life time condition.

And I like your rambling! :thumbu2: Sounds so familiar to us. :smile1: :thumbu2:
