Beatlebangs1964 came up with this idea and it's great. all Beatles fan's can now post there artwork here and show it off i'm going make a homepage with all the art i have on my computer i have to do it later but it will be in the next few hours. I have just come home from school and i'm really stressed out about my grad and a i have a pounding headache and to make things worse my dog got into the garbage in my room it's beside me so i have to clean it up......................well stay tuned Beatleheads

that is a neat idea. I've done lots of things with the beatles, most recently I've taken an old acoustic guitar and made into somewhat of a john lennon memorial sort of thing, i really do like it, got me an A on the project, lol

Heres one of George I did on an Oekaki (look it up on google if you don't know what it is but it's cool) I can only post small quanitys at a time of my art work because my computer is too slow (my brother is going to upgrade it for my grad present from him) and too many things makes it freeze and crash. I'm a crochet instructor at a Michael's store and I just finished a crocheted Beatles graphed afghan. It's in black and white but the glare from the white confused my camera. It came out looking kinda blue-ish. (GASP!)

I just finished this and wanted to post the pictures for you. I figured out the weird "blue" problem with my camera so all is well, LOL!!

This is also crocheted tunisian style using a graphed photo of John. I took the "Imagine" words and autograph from another picture, graphed them as well, and added them to the bottom of the blanket.

It would be really neat to display the Imagine and the Beatles blankets at a Beatles Fan Art exibit like I remember they used to have at Beatlefest. (I went to the Chicago ones the first few years they had it. I remember one year someone painted up a large metal trash can and lid with Beatles artwork, of course. It was soooooo cooool!!!!)

I used a light 2H pencil to draw the outlines, including outlining the shadows to make blocks of dark, medium and light - closely referencing the photo on my computer screen. Then I used a dark 8B pencil to fill in the black parts (I kinda wish I'd used charcoal or ink, the pencil doesn't cover the paper very smoothly) and coloured pencil for the midtones.

I did another Beatles drawing about a year ago, and never finished it - it's too big for my scanner so I'll have to take a photo sometime and show you guys. :cool1:

you could still go over it in charcoal if you're still dissatisfied with the blending. it smooths out best if you use either a tissue, shading stump, or pink eraser. pencil still smooths out just as well with those. anyways, nice work.:thumbu2:

Aaah, shading stump! I have one of those, I used it for pastels a few months back, threw it in my art box and forgot about it - thanks for the tip Serena! I'm gonna go try that right now! :clap2:

Well, thanks! Glad you like it! I'm not sure if the original photo is from a tour program, but I got it from one of my mom's Beatle photo books. It's called Yesterday & Today 1963-1965 and it's got all kinds of Robert Freeman photos in it.

yeah i sold a few awhile back when i was in high school, but haven't really put anymore up for sale since then.

i do usually listen to my ipod on shuffle, or internet radio. it really does set the mood better.

i'd like to finish jerry someday, but there's so many other projects i've started since then, he sort of got push aside.

Me and my friend had a Beatles party for a combo of George's Birthday and Beatles Appreciation day so I made a cake of a caricature I had of them.

I look at Macca's cover art for his new Fireman release and I can not say I am particularly fond of it. I do not feel that it soothes me, or inspires me. I enjoy the blend of colors but they do not trigger much emotion in me. I see chaos mixed with a primitive style. Being a perennial child myself, I would say this offering has child like qualities.

I should add - though likely understood by my critique - I am not much of an art critic. I never have quite understood abstract art, nor am I particularly artistic.

Set aside whatever explanation Macca has given thus far and tell us how you interpret his art, I am very curious and eager to learn.

I believe it was done in chalk, which worked very well for the drawing. It tends to be a conversation piece, whenever somebody comes to visit.
