I came to this page at a Radio London site where some people remember George.

They are quite warm stories:

found this about San Fransicos free clinic

In the early years, it stayed afloat with money from musicians such as George Harrison and concert promoters such as Bill Graham. Haight Ashbury Free Clinics Inc. now serves about 65,000 patients a year at several locations around the Bay Area and is used as a model for free clinics across the country."

What lovely sentiments, especially from the "young girl."
I wonder if George ever grasped how much his fans cared about him, and what the Beatles were to them.

With regard to the Free Clinic, I read that in 1974 George paid some $74,000.00 to the clinic to keep it from closing.
