My neighbor said the pug had her puppies. She had 4 female puppies, each one with a doubly curled tail.

I saw a beautiful 1963 Ford Thunderbird the other day. I really love classic cars. There is this man who has a serious 1965 Dodge Monaco 500 - that's a Chrysler anybody would love. It is beautiful; stream lined and has a Coronet body. That is a damn good Dodge! :thumbu2:

Do you ever go to classic car shows, BB? I've heard those are a lot of fun and then you'd get your fix of all those cool old cars. We don't see as many of classic cars up north because the salt from the roads in the winter erodes them too much. Bummer.

Well I don't know about yours, but I just opened a bottle of red, looking forward to it and its tastes rank beyond belief, then again it was won at the adult tombola at my sons schools Christmas Fete. Oh well shouldn't drink anyway, drank a whole bottle of white to myself last night :afraid2:

I love classic car shows and luckily there are a few of them in town. There are some real heartwarmers there - all mint condition. A 1963 white Chevrolet Impala; a turquoise 4-door 1964 Ford Falcon sedan; a 1963 yellow Mercury Comet; an ice blue 1965 Dodge Coronet 500 4-door sedan for starters. And then there was this 1960 black Ford truck! I just LOVE it!

:scream2: bad mood today

That sux, I hate being in a bad moods. My friend was in a bad mood at school today, she was dissing all of our teachers and it was funny but scary because she was shaking....

I'm in a real peaceful mood at the moment, and in two or so hours I'm going to tune into the radio, where they have a special on John and if you call in you can win his CDs, I hope I win one... I've never heard much of his solo stuff. :smile1:

I was talking to a friend of mine in a band the other day about how to conquer stage fright and he gave me a couple pointers and then said "And then there's the old 'picture your audience in their underwear' thing..." It just occurred to me, he'd better not be picturing US in our underwear when HE'S on stage! LOL....

More random thoughts on the subject...that'd be a terrible idea anyway. I mean, if somebody in your audience is really attractive, wouldn't picturing them in their skivvies be too distracting and make you lose your place? And if they're really NOT attractive, then ewwwww, that could be distracting in the opposite way....

I'll go with one of the other strategies tonight, I think. :wink1:

I get terrible stage fright, but I've found over the years nothing really helps except getting more and practice at it. Unfortunately I can't find anything to make it easier! :afraid2:

I think everyone freaked out about it because it hit right before rush hour started and traffic was going only about 10 miles an hour everywhere while people were driving. (And I never had to shovel out an entire driveway before, so that was my complaint for the night. :wink1:)

I had emailed our radio station last night to thank them for organizing and playing a John Lennon tribute all day, and I mentioned a few words about his influence as a music artist and peace activist. This morning they read it out ON AIR, including my first and last name and everything. I seriously didn't know they were going to do that, I was sooo embarrassed! Got my fifteen seconds of fame though. :blush4:

I was watching a Canadian comic (Ron James) on t.v. tonight and he gave, what I thought was the best description of cross-country skiing I've ever heard.

"In cross-country skiing, you go up, down, sweat, and slide, up, down, sweat, and slide. It's almost like sex except you don't get the same kind of real pleasure at the end".

Whoa...... my son just found A Hard Day's Night on the tube.

I think that the 'fish tank scene' in Romeo in Juliet(with Leo DiCaprio and Claire Danes) is one of the most romantic movie scenes I have ever seen.

This has been a long week, but I still have to work on Sunday. And I'm on salary, so I don't get paid for it. But I packed a lot of stuff into a 1 day weekend, so I can't complain too much. Oh wait, yes, I can. I heard that last weekend, they wouldn't turn the heat on on Sunday so people who had to work were working in 55-60 degree conditions. They're SUPPOSED to remedy that for tomorrow, but I'm wearing fleece just in case.

Yes, but in the fan fics or fan-tasies, people are the same generation as their Beatle and the action usually takes place in another decade, would have to be with John-stories. So you see, whatever set-up they want, they get.

I have mixed feelings about this. First, if the stories are by gay men, I say they are just as entitled to their fantasies as we girls. I think some are quite explicit, but so are the ones that have girls in them. What is particularly odd to me is that they often have the Fabs involved with each other. That's wacked out to me, LOL! Also, I find it strange that some girls really like slash. Why would you want your fantasy guy involved with another guy?

Honestly, I am so naive. Until a few months ago, I didn't know such things existed! :bigeyes3:

I really don't understand my boss. She works late every night, worked both Saturday and Sunday this weekend, complains constantly about being stressed out, exhausted and overworked, but yet when I give this project to our other coworker for him to check my work, she takes it from him and says it "makes more sense" for her to look at it than him. So basically, I think she just LIKES to work that much and wants to feel all important and needed and stuff. That's fine, but then why complain about it so much?

I heard via the grapevine that a band I like is going to announce a last minute New Year's Eve gig, but it's going to be really small, so now I'm all nervous that if I don't hear about it the MINUTE it's made public, it's going to sell out before I can get to it. Not that that would be the end of the world or anything, but since I have no plans for NYE, it would be nice to go see them rather than sitting around by myself at home.

Sounds like your boss needs to:

1. delegate
2. realize that you can't control everything and have to trust people who work for you

This puzzles me. I was making hotel reservations for New Year's Eve on-line this morning and there was a drop-down box for "rate type", you know if you got a senior citizen's discount or have a frequent customer number or whatever. The default is "standard rate", which quoted me a price of $100. The last option in the drop-down was "internet user's rate", which quoted me a price of $90. Why, if you're making reservations on the internet, would you have to pick a special box to get a $10 lower price? Do they just assume that most people will think "Oh, I'm not a senior or a frequent customer" and not even look at what the other options in the dropdown box are and pay $10 too much?

They might--you know as well as I do that people don't read ANYthing anymore....or it could have been some sort of mix-up within the system if they were supposed to have an internet-advertised rate or something.

I don't know if I'd say it was boring, but it's soooooooo sexist that it always just annoyed me. Nice girl has to turn into trashy girl to get the guy, who doesn't have to change at all. Yeah, great lesson to teach via cute songs and silly dance numbers.

I find it really funny that I'm like a completely ignorable lumpy dumpy frump here at home, but as soon as I go to where my parents live, I'm like Ms. Cutting Edge Fashion! I know my mom is going to have a freaking FIT tomorrow that none of my pants come all the way up to my waist and are boot cut rather than appropriately matronly tailored. And (gasp!) my jeans have some embroidery on them and I'm not bringing any matching velour or parachute fabric sweatsuits.

:laugh5: :laugh5: :laugh5: :laugh5: I can sympathise with you, my mum is always saying "when you gonna stop dressing like a vagrant gypsy" and then she goes into a high street shop and buys herself a gypsy style skirt and some beaded bag charms which are the fashion here at the moment!!!!

Oh, I shouldn't, but my mom wishes I would. She's 85 and very "proper", you know, no cleavage allowed, don't show your legs, nothing too snug so that anybody might possibly have any idea that you have an actual body under your clothes. Not that I dress trashy (well, not very often...lol), but compared to the Laura Ashley/white gloves/garden party way my mom wishes I looked....

Your mom does realize you are not a Pilgrim? :teeth1:

You might remind her how ladies were dressing in the Flapper days.
Dresses went short, looked like slips, and ladies weren't wearing bras,
and were showing limbs all over the place! Might be a little before
her time, but if she had big sisters, they might have been flappers!

And they were doing the Black Bottom!* :bigeyes3:

That depends on their parents. My seven year old already knows that a comment like that would be said to me in private. Then again, I've learned to bring books/game boys/ etc. to certain homes, to prevent such a comment in the first place.
