Knowing that when you play that song, you will feel better right away

Usually Here Comes The Sun or Blow Away ... although the whole of ATMP is good too.

"Here Comes The Sun" seems to be the popular choice around here. I might also add "This Is Love"; one of those refreshing songs that never gets old despite of sounding very 80's.

I Want to Tell You
I actually find the lyrics to this song to be quite depressing. To me the lyrics express perfectly the quiet desperation in not being able to express yourself the way you want to. The song has a deep meaning to me because I am able to relate exactly to what is being said in this song. I just can't anything uplifting about the lyrics at all.
Is it the music in the song that you find uplifting?
I would like to hear your take on this song.

Stuck Inside A Cloud for me because it reminds me of how much courage George had to face his own mortality and the impending loss of his wife and son.
This song makes me grateful for everything that I have every time I hear it.

It is one of my all time favorite songs. I think the lyrics are brilliant and ones that I can readily identify with. However, I never found it depressing. Rather, I found it quite uplifting because it expressed my exact sentiments far better than I ever could.

George's music has certainly helped many. A while back I told how a young girl with Asperger's Syndrome let George "talk" for her. She absolutely loved George and would quote whole reams of interviews; knew the lines from the Beatle movies and, when at a loss for words, found something appropriate that George Harrison had said. He certainly helped accelerate her language skills.
Yeah, George Harrison had the gift of expression - it came through in the way he spoke; in the colors he added to the world via gardening and art; he certainly did a lot to make this world a brighter place.

12/31- George has brought immeasurable joy into the lives of countless people. On the Random George Thoughts thread, I related a personal account of how George and his music reached a child who had Asperger's Syndrome, which is on the high end of the autism spectrum. This child absolutely LOVED George and let George "talk" for her. She was quite the Beatles expert and if you had a question about George, she was one fan you might want to consult. It still warms my heart to think of how George's words, music and example took root in her heart.

"His Name is Legs" cracks me up
"Gone Troppo" is a really good one
"Dream Away"
"Give Me Love (Give Me Peace on Earth)"
"P2 Vatican Blues"
and then the ones that make me smile and cry at the same time- like "Life Itself" and "Breath Away from Heaven"

Strangely enough, Blow Away makes me sad... Don't know why, as it is not supposed to. :afraid2:
I'll go for an up-tempo song like Taxman. :music2:

Thinking about this, there are a LOT of Harrison songs that make me get me in a good mood - and most of the above mentioned songs work for me. But I'll also add "For You Blue", and also "Miss O'Dell" - (the one where he laughs!)

Miss O'Dell and I Dig Love always make me smile :smile1: Got My Mind Set on You and the chorus from Blow Away are very uplifting to, and Here Comes the Sun is wonderfully optimistic. There are many, many more, but these are the ones that jump out at me.
