As of this past Saturday, I am now a redhead. :) A week ago, I had gotten my hair "permanently" straightened. For years I've been wanting to color it red and my sister (the beautician) always said no to that. According to her, I'd look too pale or "sickly." Oh, I had red lightlights done a few times, but never red all around. Well, this Saturday (going to another salon on both days), I did it! My hair is red for the time being, that is until the color wears off. If that happens, I'll just go back and get it done again! :) There's only two people who haven't seen it...my mother and my sister. Everyone else who's seen it (co-workers, my boyfriend, friends etc) like it. Here's a picture. I plan to grow my hair even longer than that. I want to grow it to the middle of my back.

Enjoy! After five years, my website picture is finally updated.

Well personally, I think your hairdresser's full of bunk! The color suits you really well, and I'm glad you decided to go with your gut on this one.

And as for other redheads out here, I'm sure there are, but I'm not one of them. I'm actually a blonde (just not this blonde! :wink1: )

Sometimes I'm mistaken for a red head. My hair sometimes looks red when light hits it a certain way, when it's wet or if it's in a hairnet. Hint, I only wore a hairnet in past jobs.

In fact it's a goldish strawberry blond. I know my mother was a light blond with brown high lights and after she had me her hair changed brown. Now she's a dark blond. Maybe someday when I get older or someday if I ever end up having a baby the hormon changes will change my hair red. Who knows.

Actually, my sister, who's also a beautician, said she thought red wouldn't look good on me. The other stylist I have (that's closer to where I live) really liked it.

I was a redhead for years. My natural color is a medium brown with a lot of red highlights and for a long time I "helped" the red up a couple notches so I was definitely auburn. I'm very pale, but I still think it looked good and so does yours! :smile1:

i think the red looks great on you kristi. :thumbu1: i'm a redhead,

always was naturally, but now with "a little help from my"

HAIRDRESSER! :wink3: i love having red hair....:girl2:

the only down side to red is that it fades faster than other colors

(the molecule is large & slides off the hair) so you might want to

invest in hair products to prolong your red.

enjoy it! (and your sister was wrong! LOL)

My sister will find out soon! And you're the red does fade quicker, that's what the stylist said. That's awesome that you're a natural redhead. I think red hair is cool. I already stained my one towel after a shower. Oops.

I think it looks great and I love the color. That is a very nice picture.

I also love the picture of your adorable beagle, Snoopy. She looks a lot like my dog! I have this loud barked beagle and she is the best dog I have ever owned. I've always been partial to beagles.

Nope. I'm blond (and, yes, I have loads of fun!) But, my mom's sister (my aunt Elise) is a red-head. Only one in the family, too, I think...

BTW, I think red looks great on you, Kritsti! Congrats on the change, and hope you have fun with it...

I like the color very much, Kristi! I think it looks very nice, doesn't make you look washed out at all!

I color my hair too, and I do it in a color they call "burgundy black," which is a very dark brown with deep auburn highlights. It's close to my natural color...I don't have as much auburn in my natural hair, though. (Hah, the only thing I have in my natural hair nowadays is a lot of grey, actually!) I do like the red highlights. I could never go totally red, though, my coloring is totally wrong for that and I have VERY dark eyebrows...I once did my hair quite red and it looked dreadful, really fake, so I opted to go for something much more natural for me with hints of red instead. So far it's worked out!

I love your new look, Kristi! I think it looks really great.

I've never colored my hair before, but I think it would be fun to dye it red. :smile1:

I like the new look on you Kristi! The color looks great! ]

I used to do blond highlights once in a while, but I've got decent enough haircolor that I just don't bother.

I used to be a redhead when I was a teenage, but now I'm blond. my natural colour is brown but I wish I were a natural redhead (my favourite book is 'Anne from green gables').

Wow! Kristi! That looks beautiful!!! I didn't think your natural colour was bad either, but how cool to find something fun that looks so good on you!

I did mine auburn about two weeks ago. It's just a temporary colour that will eventually wash out. I tend to do it in autumn each year & boy, I got a LOT of compliments this year. I'm thinking I might let it go a bit longer this time! :laugh5:

Fun, isn't it???

Your hair looks great Kristi!

Mine currently is a light reddish-brown with blonde highlights (naturally a boring medium brown).
