Are there a lot of big, noticable differences or is it just 3 or 4 songs that are really different between the mono and stereo White Albums?

I've never listened to the mono version. I only have the stereo version, so I couldn't begin to tell you. Anyone else care to voice their opinion?

Yeah, there are several differences. If you know the songs extremely well, you'll be able to hear them right away. I'd say about 10 songs have big changes. Several others have little things, like a missing tambourine beat, or an extra harmony or handclap here and there.

Off the top of my head, these are the biggest changes I can remember:
Helter Skelter - shorter, doesn't come back at the end where does his "blisters" thing
Don't Pass Me By - different violin solo at the end
Sexy Sadie - longer, has a part that was edited out of the stereo version
Blackbird - different bird sounds
Honey Pie - slightly longer solo

I got an original UK release of the white album in mono. I'll have to listen to Sexy Sadie and say what the added bit was.

It's near the end, a few seconds before the stereo version fades out. In the mono version, they just play the chords to the "We gave her everything we own..." part one more time. The stereo version has that entire part edited out.

most of those songs that Jerry mentioned are on a blue 'rarities' album that i and some of you have.

And let us not forget the finger tapping at the beginning of "Happiness Is A Warm Gun", as John sings the first few lines. This is on the mono mix, but missing from it's stereo counterpart.

Now up to 23 of the songs--the only 2 'different' ones being Dear Prudence and Why Dont We Do It in the road?
