Do you love or loathe shopping? Is there some particular kind of shopping you particularly like or dislike? Favorite stores? Places you wouldn't set foot in?

I love most shopping. My favorite stores are bookstores (especially used) and record stores, but I also like shopping for clothes, lingerie, jewelry and, oddly enough, groceries. The only things I hate shopping for are shoes and cleaning supplies. Or if I need to buy a present for somebody and have no idea what to get them.

I go to Target to buy 1 little thing and come out with 5 bags of stuff!Very dangerous for me.

Oh, same here...the Wal-marts nearest my house are both kind of skeevy. I don't mind going to the Wal-marts where my fiance's family's summer cottage is in northern Michigan--it's open 24 hours, so we just go shopping there at 2 in the morning when the store is empty. :smile1:
And I spend WAY too much at Target...I went there tonight to buy some dish soap, and I end up spending $2 in the dollar section, found a new blanket for my bed, found a wall clock that matches my kitchen.....
I love bookstores, too--I went to one after I finished at Target, actually!

I hate shopping with a passion. I doubt I shop for clothes more than once a year. I just really can't be bothered with shopping.

I like shopping, but I dont like needing money to do it. In my family, you want something? You earn the money to buy it. It's a pain in the arse.
I really like shopping online though. I love sites like hottopic.com ( good music merch and witty tee shirts), fredflare.com, and ebay. I have a serious ebay problem though. Once I bought a pair of cow salt and pepper shakers and my father was not pleased seeing that we have two pairs of shakers and they were cows.

I loathe grocery shopping, once I am at the grocery store, I am ok, it's just the thought of it :afraid2: , I love book stores too, especially Half Priced Books, I also like looking in the discount stores for things that I would like to have, but cannot afford at regular prices, well why waste the money if I can find it cheaper also, I like some parts of flea markets, I have learned the older I get the less I like shopping, I shop wherever the price is right for my budget, I do shop Wal-Mart quite a bit, I also shop Target for certain things, I love JC Penney, I do not care to shop Federated/Macy's any longer, although based in my hometown, I think Federated did themselves a disservice when they bought Macy's IMHO.

Normally, I don't mind shopping. I can go to bookstores, dept. stores, etc.
The thing that drives me completely around the bend is grocery shopping.
We can be walking along, picking up what we can afford and such, and then WHAM...you get half way down an aisle and there will be a couple of people, right in the middle of the aisle talking. They have the aisle blocked, you can't get around them no matter how much you try.
You say excuse me, but they normally ignore you or say, " Could you go around us. We havn't seen our friends in quite awhile".
Lady.... If I could get past your fat a$$, I would have done it long ago.
I saw a show one time where comedian Gallagher built a device where he attached a car horn to a 12 volt camping flashlight, and instead of a light coming on when he switched the button, the horn went off. I think I'm going to build one of those.
Scene in grocery store:-
BEEP BEEP - Move your a$$ lady. I need to get to my shrimp-ring.
(No disrepect intended to anyone of Italien descent but italien women seem to be the worse ones for blocking grocery aisles).

I hate food shopping so do it on-line now and get it delivered, i don't mind buying clothes for the boys, i hate clothes shopping for me unless its in and out the vintage shops in Notting Hill, and I really really really really hate Christmas shopping.
Saying all this I love shopping in markets just cannot stand chain shops.

and I really really really really hate Christmas shopping.
Oh, I forgot about that... Last year I went Xmas shopping the day after Thanksgiving with all the lunatics, but I got 95% of it done that day, and the rest of it I finished over that weekend.
I refuse to spread out the shopping over the 3 weeks or so between Thanksgiving and Xmas--ever since the time I waited for half an hour in the check-out line to buy ONE gift card at Best Buy during the holidays, I gave up on last-minute shopping.

I love shopping for just about everything: groceries, books, electronics, internet impulse buying, shoes...but clothes shopping is an inherited passion in my family. My favorite stores are American Eagle, Banana Republic when we've got some money, The Buckle and GAP.
I'm very good at stimulating the economy.

I hate almost all kinds of shopping. Shopping for clothes is the WORST, I wait until all my clothes are way too small or falling apart before anyone can force me to the mall to buy new ones.
I don't particularly mind wandering around the mall with some friends, or going shopping with them if they need something. I think it has something to do with the fact that I'm unable to make decisions for myself if my life depended on it.
I do like grocery shopping, though! I think it's fun to go early in the morning, when the store is almost empty, and being able to go around and pick out everything you want for the week. :smile1:

I love shopping and milling around the stores. I do more looking than buying. I tend to wear people out because I spend hours just walking around and looking. Department stores are fun, like Filenes, Target & Penneys. And oooooh! Crate & Barrel!!! Wow! Pretty stuff in there! Barnes and Noble is another winner for me. Books and coffee? Well, that's heaven on earth, baby! My absolute favorite store is Bath & Body Works. I can spend major bucks in there so people who know me know I need to be retrained when I'm in there. Sheeesh! Is it a crime to want to smell good? Stores I hate? Hmmm...gotta think about that one!

I want a digital camera badly, it's those things for my house that take priority and keep me waiting, plus the darn price of everything going through the roof, I have to be frugal, right now I have a leaking hot tub, that ought to set me back a few bucks, but well worth it when it gets cold outside to run outside, hop into that warm water and star gaze...

I got a Canon - John says they make the best ones for the money. It's not top of the line, but for $199, you can't beat it! And it seems pretty easy to use. I even managed to download a pic to my computer and e-mail it to myself. Expect to see lots more pictures in the next few months while I figure it out! :)

Digital cameras are the best, the only thing with me is that I never get around to printing them off onto photo paper to put in frames so all my pics of the kids in frames are about 2 years out of date. :teeth1:
