Okay, I've been a Beatles fan nearly my whole life but just tonight I heard of something I had never heard of. I was looking up guitar tabs when I noticed all these songs that in parentheses, were labeled as being from this film called "Clock." I have the lost lennon tapes but don't recall anything about this "Clock" film.
The songs are oldies mainly ("lend me your comb", "honey don't," "rave on"...). I am just so confused right now. What is this film? there was nothing on imdb either. HELP!

Here's a puzzler for everyone. I, myself, have never heard of this film. The only thing close to it I recall is "A Clockwork Orange", and I know that's not it.

In September 1971 John and Yoko, in a room at the St. Regis Hotel in New York, recorded the soundtrack for their film "Clock".
The film will be screened at Yoko's art exhibit in Syracuse, New York, on October 9.
Got this from the Bagism Library, but fon't know which year Oct. 9, anyway maybe it helps you.

did you mean that it was screen on oct. 9?
what kind of movie was it? these old rock and roll songs seems odd for one of their typically avant garde films. hmmmmm...

OK, one more time;
the October 9 was in 1971, John's 31st birthday
Yoko's art exhibition This Is Not Here opened.
The show, a 10 year look at her career was taped and broadcasted on US TV May 1972 (John and Yoko in Syracuse, NewYork).
Later that night, in a Syracuse hotel room, an all star Jam session took place.
Having Ringo and Maureen, Allen Klein, Phil Spector, Dick Cavett, John Cage, Dylan, Dennis Hoper, Spike Millagan, Jack Nicholson, Andy Warhol, Frank Zappa, Klaus Voorman, Allen Ginsberg, Jim Keltner, Mal Evans, Neil Aspinall and EC.
There is a tape of it, featuring
What'd I say
Yellow Sub (sung by ..)
On top of his hands
Goodnight Irene
Take this hammer
He's got the whole world in his hand
Like a rolling stone
Medley Twist and Shout/LouieLouie/La Bamba
Bring it on home to me
Yesterday (must have been drunk)
Tandoori Chicken
Power to the people
Mayby Baby
Peggy Sue
Bring out the joints (Spector/Lennon)
My Baby left me
Heartbreak hotel
Blue suede shoes
Crippled inside
Give peace a chance
Uncle Albert/Halsey
My sweet lord
Imagine
Oh Yoko
Now, I believe that the songs recorded for Clock as in my previous link, are on The Complete Lost Lennon Tapes. And for the above material of the jam session, I am sure much of that is on it too.
Because I have many songs of The Complete etc. and one of them I just played which is the My Sweet Lord jam. It is much of guitars/Hare Krishna/tambourine (probably Mal). And the Yesterday one I believe is called Parodie on Yesterday, got that too.
So, good luck with the rest.
Interesting stuff though, maybe run a topic on this at John's forum.

I love those all-star jams on the lost lennon tapes. The best part is Phil Spector trying to direct them these druken fools. You can hear his whiny little voice esp. in a rendition of "yellow submarine." funny stuff.
however, i'm still confused. why are these songs said to be "from" the film when they were actually recorded later that night? or is that just crazy bootleg logic?

There are two posts, my first one with the link refers to the Clock album.
here is another one http://www.geocities.com/beatleg_belmo/clock.html
Now the second post, with the list of songs from the hotel jam, is a different issue.
