You know what I'm talking about. They're the albums that you always pull off the shelf and open the case quickly so you can avoid looking at the atrocity of a cover. Or the ones you take off your shelf just to look at the cover and put it back.
Great Album; Bad Cover
Foo Fighters - The Colour and the Shape
Foo Fighters - There is Nothing Left to Lose
Foo Fighters - One By One (actually, just a pretty good album with a lame cover)
Foo Fighters - In Your Honor
I'm a huge fan of the Foos but they have really bad album covers (their single covers are usually a lot cooler). TCATS and OBO are way too basic. IYH is too arty, and TINLTL is just too bland.
Pete Ham - Golders Green
I love the music but the cover looks too Microsoft-Paint-y.
Bad Album; Great Cover
Queen - The Miracle
Queen - Hot Space
They obviously spent more time constructing the covers than they did recording the album.
INXS - Kick
Ever heard of "including the whole band on the cover"? (I know the back of the booklet includes the ones not on the cover, but still.)
