Is just about here. Are there any you are looking forward to? or Dreading?
looking forward to: 'Just Legal' (sorry, but I am forever a Don Johnson fan), I also think that 'Nut Cases' looks interesting.
dreading: the new one with Gena Davis, I like her and may check it out...but...., also any new Reality shows...
The new one that has already begun, 'Prison Break' has captured my interest, yet I still feel lost.
I hope Medium is coming back I liked that one too.

Season 2 of House. A friend at work got me hooked on that show in April, and I got to catch up on the reruns during the summer.

Lost! CSI. I got hooked on House as well and I look forward to catching more eps.
24 doesn't start until January unfortunately and Deadwood won't be back until March '06! :cry3:

Just curious as to why you'd be dreading that one, pinky? I think it sounds kind of interesting if they're not stereotypical about it.
I don't watch much TV, so I wait for my one TV-addicted friend to recommend things before I start watching them, generally.

Hmm... I haven't heard of "Nut Cases" before, although the title caught my attention. What will that one be about?
I haven't seen any previews for "Prison Break" either, but Kim was talking about how excited she was for that one for the past two weeks. So maybe next week I'll give that one a try.
I'm not really too much of a tv person nowadays. The one TV show I really enjoyed last year was cancelled. I do watch "Family Guy" sometimes, and "That 70's Show". Aren't two characters supposed to be leaving, though? I'm not sure if I'll watch it if half the crew is missing.
Well, mainly I think I'll be looking for some good reruns to catch. :smile1:

Don't follow that many shows anymore, so probably won't watch any new ones until someone suggests it. We will be watching Extreme Home Makeover tho'. That's one the entire family enjoys.

Lizzy, Nut Cases is a new FOX comedy (I think it is supposed to be comedy). I have seen only a few commercials for it. I may be mistaken but I think it is about 2 lawyers that work cases involving outrageous scenarios. It has a couple of recognizable actors, yet not real well known. It just caught my attention as a new humorous show.

Speaking of that, does anybody have the same problem with TV guide as I do? Like I can't find one until 2 or 3 days after their listings start? They say that they're supposed to be in the stores on Thursday (listings start Sunday), but I've never seen one before Saturday and usually I can't find one till Monday or Tuesday, at which point, what's the point?

Er... American Dreams got cancelled (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Dreams). There's going to be an epilogue that's going to air, but that's it.
Anyway. I'm not looking forward to anything new, because, in general, TV's been on this long slide to suckdom. But I am looking forward to new seasons of "Arrested Development," "Scrubs," and "The Amazing Race" (which is the only reality TV show worth watching).
Oh, and "Veronica Mars." Yay.

I know a lot of you are going to watch Simpsons and Family Guy,but, sorry I refuse to watch childrens cartoons. Even tho I have to admit the Simpsons do have a Beatle mention every now and then. I don't watch too much broadcast television. Mostly I watch HBO.....Sopranos, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Six Feet Under, Entourage, SATC and now Rome. I have been watching the FX network more and more......Rescue Me, Starved, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia are much better then most broadcast television.
The only network show that I regularly watch is Desperate Housewives....I've been a Teri Hatcher fan ever since she said those immortal words 'They are real and and they are fabulous'!

I like comedy sitcoms, so I'll be looking forward to another season of According to Jim, Rodney, King of Queens, Two and a half Men, George Lopez.... shows like that. The only two reality shows I like are Supernanny, and American Idol.
Beatle_4
Sep 08, 2005, 09:00 AM
George Lopez
House
Jeopardy
Lost
Rodney
NCIS
Jeopardy
Simpson's (which btw, is classed as an adult themed cartoon)
According To Jim
Numbers
Corner Gas (A funny little Canadian comedy show with Brent Butt)
Jeopardy (Did I mention I like Jeopardy?)
Law And Order (although not the same without Jerry Orbach)
So far, these are the only ones I can think of that I'm waiting to return
As far as new shows go, I'm waiting to se what the new Night Stalker will be like. I want to see if it is anything like the original with Darren McGavin and if he'll end up doing a cameo or not. I can't think of any other new show right now as I have a bad case of "Convertor-Flick-I-Tis". I CAN'T STAND COMMERCIALS.
And I absolutely refuse to watch those moronic reality based shows. To me, they are demeaning, disgusting in some cases (Fear Factor is the worst), and show nothing but the worst in people. Not to mention the fact that I see nothing realistic in them (trying to survive on an island, eating bugs, running around half the globe, etc., etc., etc,.)
If you like them, then fine. That's your right and I am not aiming this towards you. I am only stating what I think of them and I wish that people who decide what to put on t.v. start showing things worth watching again. Oh how I long for the 60's and early 70's again. (I'll end this now)

What I find interesting about it is that she's going to be portrayed as an Independent, not a Republican or a Democrat. Ok, so that's totally unrealistic, but that's beside the point.
However, I'm totally waiting for the Democrats to say "She's no Independent, she's OBVIOUSLY Republican and they're OBVIOUSLY trying to make us look bad" while the Republicans say "She's no Independent, she's OBVIOUSLY Democrat and they're OBVIOUSLY trying to make US look bad." Stolen from the Wikipedia article I linked on the last page:
"In August 2005, there were reports that NBC planned to air the final 12 minute "alternate ending" coda for the series, possibly as part of a 90-minute rebroadcast of the show's final episode, or in a 60-minute edited version, possibly to air before the start of the 2005-06 television season."
So, keep an eye out for that. If it doesn't happen, though, then I bet it'll end up on the DVD set that you know is coming. Hee.

Geena Davis's show looks good, but I don't like the way TV producers assume a women would only become this country's president in the event that she's VP and the elected Pres dies in office. Why can't a woman just BE President? I think it's time. (Clinton in '08, anyone?)

Actually, that sounded like more of a bash on TV producers than on us Midwesterners. At least, that's what I took it as, because TV producers these days are, by and large, idiots.

I know that, Rell...and actually, Illinois (and Michigan) are NOT in the "center" of this country, they're in the NORTH of this country. I was thinking more in terms of the CENTER center, if that makes any sense...no insults intended, really!

Well, the fact that you weren't referring to me and people who live around me specifically wasn't really the issue. I don't think it's appropriate to generalize about ANY part of the country, I wasn't being particularly sensitive because I thought you were talking about me.

And this is why, apparently, Freddie Prinze Jr. is getting his own sitcom (http://abc.go.com/primetime/schedule/2005-06/freddie.html).

WHY? Do they think comedy is hereditary (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freddie_Prinze) or something?

Please refrain from calling me a coastal snob. In fact, I live several hundred miles inland from the frigid Northern California coast, so I do not and cannot fall into the same category as those who live in the Orange County area. You know what generalizations I hate? When people think California ends with San Francisco, and the entire state is in fact coastline. I live in the desert, man, it's 100 degrees in the middle of September.

Yeah..I would say she originally murdered her kids..it is based on a greek myth I believe..."The Woman in White" . However to end this 'fight' the younger brother tricked her into her house, where she was never supposed to return, where her 'ghost kids' did her 'ghost self' in. Did you see the ending??? I think they are going to need to replay this pilot....it may be important to have the groundwork for people to follow the show.
I also checked out Head Cases last night...missed the first twenty minutes...unfortunately my hearing caused me to miss a bit..but it had an interesting humor to it....and once again laying down the background story...it looks promising.
