Next we're gonna have the anniversary of the time when Capitol refused any Beatle recordings because they didn't sound American enough. Then, when they realised they had signed away the best group of all time, threw a major strop and pout and sued VeeJay for the contrating rights. I disn't see Dick Rowe doing that same thing when He rejected them and Parlophone contracting them.

Also notable, more than one year before "Love Me Do/PS I Love You", in June 1961, "My Bonnie" was released as a single in Germany. "My Bonnie" was the first recording by the Beatles (lead vocals Tony Sheridan) to be officially released on record. The single went on to sell 100,000 copies in Germany.

In June 1962, "Cry For A Shadow" was the first Beatles composition to appear on record. The song was included on Tony Sheridan`s German album "My Bonnie".

39 years ago? Too far back! I do remember my older sister kissing the T.V. screen when the Boys were on the Ed Sullivan show. She kept kissing Paul thinking he might notice someone smack'in his lips!!! I still remember the EXCITEMENT that night, along with the anticipation. I think the number of folks watching was around 75 million!! Wow! seems like only......."YESTERDAY".

The actual count was about 72 million. At the time, it was the largest number to veiw any kind of TV show.

I think it was only 72,323,600 because one of them was a 7lb 6oz baby girl that was actually born at 12:01 a.m. which would account for the headcount discrepancy. The baby was quoted as saying to the doctor,"I'll make like a baby, and HEAD-OUT of this place"(HA!HA!)
