I was just reminded of a poll I saw on another site.

What do you think should be the next "archival" Beatle release?

The original Get Back album?
An Anthology 4-type of release?
The rest of the BBC stuff?

What else is there?

I have always said a Rarities kind of thing should be released on CD, since it's already on vinyl. That, the Hollywood Bowl concert and some of the stuff you just mentioned. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/grin.gif

Is it over now?

This would be a good one. Only members from the Beatles fan club got the compilation album of all the Christmas discs when the Beatles broke up.

Another idea would be a Side B collection of all of their singles.

I have those on cd, the Hollywood Bowl on the Yellow Dog and Repro Man Labels (the latter has all 3 concerts) and I can't recall what the others were, but yes it would be neat if they were officially released.

Bearkat,

That's what Past Masters, Vols. 1 & 2 are.

Not to mention Rarities...

And the Christmas ones are all on cd too. Yellow dog, and a number of other labels, as well as on the Ultimate Experience set.

NWM,

I was thinking more along the lines of an "official" release.

That had this pole in the beatles monthly
magazine a few months ago, and over in
here we thought we they should have an
album with all the songs that Didn't make
number 1.

I think they should have an album with
out takes of the boys in the studio like
you get on the anthology videos!!

with love from me to you

Yeah, I know what you meant. Though if they were officially released, the ones I have wouldn't be worth as much. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/wink.gif

Well, that's why Capitol released so many compilations after the break-up.

There are actual plans at the moment on the Beatles releasing a "2" album, following the incredible success of "1". Can't wait. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/thumbsup.gif

The "2" album is due to releasing next year, according to all the sources involved. Ringo himself said this on an interview previously this year. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/grin.gif

Yeah, but then I read somewhere else that he was joking about this and it wasn't actually going to happen.

I still like the comment from George after the "Anthologies" came out - "If we release anything else, we'll have to call it 'Scraping the Bottom of the Barrel with the Beatles'!" http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/grin.gif

This would have to go under the "WISH-LIST" category, but this seems like a good time for something new. I can only imagine what a treat we would be in for if the 3 remaining beatles went back to the studio. What would this new material sound like coming from the songwriting team of McCartney/Harrison?? And of course, with a "Little Help" from their friend,Ringo.
They could even consider a different approach, and "Come Together" as 3 musicians making new music geared for where they stand today? Of course,to us it would be the Beatles, however, possibly to them it would be doing what they've always Loved to do.
I really enjoyed the "Anthology 1" thing with "Freee as a bird" and "Real Love". It was great to "Techically" hear music from John and the Boys again. But,it seems that the remaining Beatles have never been comfortable with the idea of any type of "Beatles reunion". Hopefully, they will see that this world could really use the likes of Their talents just like we needed it almost 4-decades ago.
If people were surprised how well the "Beatles 1" CD sold, how many copies do you think new music from them would sell?...BAZILLIONS..BAZILLONS..AND BAZILLIONS!!!!!!!

How was that for Imagination???

"FREE AS A BIRD"

The Christmas singles should be released on cd.

Live at the hollywood bowl all three concerts, not just a cd version of the LP.

The Get Back album - All three versions of them (Think there were three versions)

And some more of the BBC!
