The new albums out next month but here's a chance to listen to most of the album a bit at a time. First up it's Keith of vocals and one of the best Stones tracks in many years. Enjoy!!

You know... I'm not much of a Stones fan (I'm sorta in the Beatles camp), but, I might just have to go out and get a copy (and soon) of the new album for "Neocon". I LOVE that Mick had the guts to write a song about our, um, beloved leader... Mick and the guys get a million points with me for that!
Thanks for posting the link to preview it!

Hey, thanks, Allison! Thanks to your review, I think I will pick myself up a copy when I go out to the mall this weekend... if it's that good, then I suppose I should add it to my collection (heck, just for the fact that they had the guts to write/record "Neocon", it'd be worth it!) Anyway... thanks for letting me know that I should certainly get a copy!

I second that recommendation, Becca. It's the best Stones album in quite awhile, IMHO!

K, Dave! If you recommend it so strongly, then when I'm out and about next week, I will *be sure* to get myself a copy! Hey... even though they're not my favorite band (um, that'd be our boys, the Beatles), I guess that I could reward them with my $20 for taking a shot at that...um...man...in the oval office... Mick gets TONS of points with me for having the guts to do that! Anyway...thanks for the album tip, my friend! I'll be sure to let you know when I've gotten my copy (hopefully that will be by the time we meet up next weekend...)!

They get tons of props from me too for the same reason! The rest of the album is great too. You can pick it up for around $12-$13 at Best Buy or Target.

Yeah, hopefully you'll recognize me without my trademark goatee!! :teeth1:

Cool! I'll make my way over to Target or Borders then (I'll just have to see what mood I'm in when I get out to do my shopping... both are favorite stops of mine... lol...) Thanks for the price info! Appreciate it!

Oh... that's right!!! You're a changed man!!! I forgot about that!!! So, it's still gone, huh? April hasn't made you grow it back yet??? Wow... Anyway... to be safe, maybe you ought to wear a name tag... just in case I don't realize it's you!!! :wink3:
At any rate, I can't wait to see ya! It will be great!

from rolling stone magazine Issue 983 September 22, 2005
"Sweet Neo Con" is direct in its politics and accusations.Who are you
singing to?" (Rolling Stone)
I don't want to overexplain it. But it is very direct. During the presidential
election, I was asked by the New York Daily News which side I was on. I said it's not polite to take sides in foreigner's elections. But we're not in an election now. (Mick Jagger)
So whose side are you on now? (Rolling Stone)
I'm not on anyone's side. There is no side that has an absolute answer. That's the trouble with politics. You might say, "The Republican take on the
Middle East in incorrect. " The Democratic policy wasn't that brilliant either.
(Mick Jagger)

I have the album (downloaded) and I love it...it rocks...it has great guitars...it has very Stones like lyrics... I think in terms of being naughty they have been trying to compete against the Wilbury albums LOL. and it swings. and rocks.. so Get your Ya Ya Ya's out and rock

I just got my copy yesterday... and... I'm VERY happy with it! It's only the second Stones album in my collection (the other being 40 Licks), and I'm so glad that I've added it in there! :smile1: I LOVE "Neocon" (way to go, boys!) and I love "Back of My Hand"--done like one of the great old blues songs, and "This Place Is Empty" is great, too! Keith almost sounds like Tom Waits (or someone) on that one. Love it! Oh, I've been playing the album over and over since getting it! Great cd!
Anyway... thanks so much, Dave (and everyone else) for convincing me to go out and get a copy! :smile1: I probably wouldn't have done so otherwise. And I certainly don't regret having done so...
Yep... they definitely "rock" on this one! Way to go, lads!

I heard from somebody that the Stones did concerts on 9/23 and 9/24/2005. Where did they perform?

I totally have been ignoring this topic...I don't 'get' the Stones, and was not interested in a 'poltical album.
Last night during my new favorite tv show, Supernatural, I was loving the music. This show has had fantastic music from the beginning, part of the charm. Anyways..I kept thinking 'who the heck is this'...the music was very good..and seemed familiar..like I should know who it is. Well of course (I wouldn't have it in this topic ;) ) , the show was brought to me in part of 'The Rolling Stones~~ A Bigger Bang.
I guess I might be picking this one up :)
