We haven't had a REAL vacation in long time. A few days here and there. Today I booked a week in Maui at the end of October. Whew. Wish I was there now. I haven't been to Maui since the 70s. Been to the other islands but not in about 10 years. WOW time flys!


Did any of you go on vacation this year and if you went where did you go?

I went to Arizona (Phoenix, specifically) for five days back in July and I had an absolutely fantastic time; we went swimming in Canyon Lake, hiking in the mountains, etc.

Went to Florida with my family in June - really really nice!

Mini-vacations this year...went to Louisville over Memorial Day weekend, am going to Michigan tomorrow morning and am going to Orlando/Tampa in 3 weeks. Next year probably the same (saving up for a car), but maybe in 2007 I'll be ready for a big vacation again. Unless airfares are too good to pass up, then you never know what I might be doing.... :wink1:

We haven't really been on any kind of exciting vacation for quite a while... in October 2003, we went on a family vacation to Disney World in Florida, but since then I haven't been anywhere. Our family is starting to want to do their own things during the holidays, so it's difficult to get us all out together. But my mom still says I'm too young to go anywhere by myself, or with a group of friends.

However, this Monday-Tuesday I'm going to Edmonton, Alberta (3 hours north of here) for an entire 36 hours with my mom, yippee. :wink1: I will get to see a good friend of mine, but otherwise... well, I don't think I'll have anything too exciting to report!

A girly break to Marrakech, Morocco in March for a few days, week in Cornwall with kids and a three day music festival with kids this month. Off today for a short break to some friends that live in Middle England and hopefully off to Spain for a week in October.

We went up to Estes Park one day, and spent far too much money! But it was a lot of fun :teeth1:

Sadly I have never been out of Ontario...... but then again I'm still young. We go to my great aunt's cottage up in lake of bays every summer for two weeks. It's so beautiful up there, and it's always terrible comming back to Toronto afterwards, because it's usually very smoogy, hot, humid, and a complete shock to see all the big ugly sky scrappers and housing developments. But then again I have always been more of a country girl any way.

Beatlefest, my only vacation destination each year. I'm not really one to be away from home and my routine for very long. But I gotta go to Beatlefest every year.

I'm currently on vacation. Have been for a week and a half now. Since hubby had to work, I decided to just get in some R&R. Although, he did take last Friday off to be with me. We took in a couple of local museums and later had a nice Japanese dinner out. Aside from spending much money on back to school clothes for my daughter, it's been a relaxing, stress-free break from work. Also gave me a chance to spend some quality time with her. Which is more precious than any of her new outfits. :smile1:

You mean aside from Beatlefest? Well I went to NYC July 4th weekend last year, but i guess in terms of a real vacation was when I went to NYC for a week in 2000. Vacations used to be an every year thing, but I dont get to do that so much anymore...

Sadly no. My boyfriend just got back from South Carolina. I sure wished I could have gone. However I could not considering I started school two days before he came back. Hopefully next year I will get a chance to go on a vacation.
