I suppose it's a bit pot-kettle-black of me to complain about this since I took two days off this week, but I just don't understand how people can come in at 9:45 am, take a lunch hour, take an hour off for a doctor's appointment and still leave at 5:00. I would be wracked with guilt. Then again, it doesn't take a whole lot to wrack me with guilt. Hell, I'm wracked with guilt right now for cruising Beatlelinks when I should be working, even though it's 3:30 on a Friday afternoon and I'm caught up with everything on my desk. :wink1:

*A NEW WAY OF CAR JACKING (NOT A JOKE)
Lieutenant Tony Bartolome*

*You walk across the parking lot, unlock your car and get inside. Then you lock all your doors, start the engine and shift into REVERSE, and you look into the rearview mirror to back out of your parking space and you notice a piece of paper stuck to the middle of the rear window. So, you shift into PARK, unlock your doors and jump out of your car to remove that paper (or whatever it is) that is obstructing your view. When you reach the back of your car, that is when the car-jackers appear out of nowhere, jump into your car and take off! Your engine was running, (ladies would have their purse in the car) and they practically mow you down as they speed off in your car.

*BE AWARE OF THIS NEW SCHEME THAT IS NOW BEING USED.*

*Just drive away and remove the paper that is stuck to your
window later, and be thankful that you read this email. I hope
you will forward this to friends and family . . . especially to
women! A purse contains all identification, and you certainly
do NOT want someone getting your home address.*

*They already HAVE your keys!

It's the guy who plays Adrian Monk, the OCD detective. Do they show "Monk" in the UK?

Anyway, he looks like this:

I think Tony Shalhoub is better-looking than that photo...JMHO.

Still, Mona, that IS a bit odd! :wink1: Wouldn't you rather have a dream in which you were making out with John or something?

Oh, believe me, I'd MUCH rather have that dream! :eyebrows: I have no idea where Tony came from. Not a bad-looking guy, but really not my type... it's Monk, for God's sake. I told my boyfriend about it, too, and the first thing he said was, "So was he a good kisser?" Eeew!

I know, I know, men are really weird, you tell them you have a dream about any other man, even a celeb, and...eww...yeah...

I know what you mean, he's not my type either...but the subconscious is a strange thing. Had you just watched "Monk" before you went to bed?

I couldn't post the details of some of the dreams I've had about John over the years! :bigeyes3:

And now that you mention it, I remember seeing a commercial for Monk last night while I was watching Law and Order: SVU. Too bad I got Tony instead of Elliot Stabler...he might have been a little better.

Here's what your dream means. It means you'll come to Hollywood and become a famous star and go to all the parties where all the Hollywood types go, and you'll meet another famous star (not Tony, he's a metaphor for bigger things) and you'll marry him, go on to make five really big movies, make the cover of STAR, PEOPLE and the NATIONAL ENQUIRER (this won't be a flattering story--about how your husband had an affair with another woman but you'll go to therapy, go on to have seven children, six will be boys and one girl, who will be totally protected and loved by said brothers), then you'll go on to become a regular on All My Children.

Hope this helps!:bigeyes3:

Would the CENTER center of the US be Hayes, Kansas?

Depends on what you mean by CENTER center.

The geographic center of the United States is in Lebanon, Kansas (http://www.worldslargestthings.com/kansas/geographic.htm), while the geodetic center of the United States (and North America) is in Osbourne, Kansas (http://www.worldslargestthings.com/kansas/geodetic.htm).

And that is your completely random and useless fact for the day.

Sure is. ESP. when it's my grandmother's chicken soup. Yummmm.

Erm. This is more a random statement:
Yesterday, ( well, it was today until 12:00 - and it's currently 12:07 here) I went to Villa Park's Oktober fest and saw American English, a cover band. I actually ended up finding Starry-eyed and her kids there, so I went and sat with them for a while. Her son, who is also a memeber of BeatleLinks, had his drumsticks out and played at our table along with the music. I swear, he didnt miss a beat. Just hope I didnt come off as an idiot while I talked, I could barely hear myself think so I kinda had to shout plus, I've still got that stuffy nose...over all, it was a good concert. Though, my curly hair got a little frizzy and morphed into an afro-ish thing. :laugh5:

Hey, THANKS! :smile1: After you left I went to throw some stuff in the garbarge can and when I passed by this one lady she asked me if I was related to one of the members of the band because I drummed so good to the songs.
So my random thought is: Maybe one day I'll be a drummer in a Beatles tribute band! I'd like that! :teeth1:

Well, you play VERY good! My dad mentioned that he saw you playing as well. Being in a Beatle tribute band would be so cool, I bet they'd hire you on the spot if you audtioned for someone. Did you fo the battle of the Beatle bands thing? You mummy said that there was 13 and 11 year old who sang "Come Together", and did fabulous!

Random thought: Now I want to start a Beatlt tribute band..but what would I play? I can't play the guitar to save my life. Drums, eh - prolly the same thing.

I picture him huddled up in a cave somewhere in Afghanistan, having a tall cool drink, surrounded by armed guards and maybe a few slave women.

I picture him leaning back in his comfy chair, putting his hands behind his head, and saying with a smug smile and a gleam in his eye (that I'm sure we've all seen somewhere before, haven't we?), "Mission accomplished."

May future generations forgive us...
