Hello everyone, nice weather for the time of year, but I digress.
I was recently watching a rather tacky auction program on the TV in the Uk and was rather taken aback by the prices someone got for Beatles stuff which I also have in my collection.

1. Beatles Singles Collection 1962-78
This includes all the original singles plus Yesterday/I Should Have Known Better and Back In the USSR/Twist and Shout released as singles in 1976 in the Uk plus SgtPepper/With a Little Help from my Friends/A Day in the Life issued in 1978 as a single in the UK.
It comes in a black box with gold writing and was released by World Records from Richmond in Surrey in the late 70's.
Someone paid £50 for it and reckons it would get a lot more at a specialist auction.

2. The Beatles Box (express from Liverpool)
This is an 8 box set of the best of the Beatles and has some rare versions of tracks on it. It has full colour inner sleeves with indepth descriptions of the tracks and a running Beatles story. The box itself is designed to look like a box and has The Beatles Box express from Liverpool written on it. The one on the program was the cassette version and fetched over £100, mine is the vinyl version and was purchased just two weeks before the murder of John.
This was also released by the same World Records Limited from Richmond in Surrey.

3. The Beatles Collection.
This collection comes in a dark blue box with the title in gold writing and the Beatles autographs also printed in gold. It has the original 12 LP's in vinyl plus a Rarities LP which I believe was issued separately in the Uk sometime in the late 70's. I don't know the original issue date, but I do know I bought it in early 1981. Again said to be worth well over a £100 but would vary greatly depending on the auction.

4. The Beatles EP Collection
Issued in the Uk in 1981 and includes all the original EP's plus an extra one called The Beatles and has the following tracks, The Inner Light/Baby You're a Rich Man/She's a Woman/This Boy.

I don't think I would really want to part with them, but I would interested to know their true potential worth.

I would be surprised if any of them are worth that much. The black and gold box is available in possibly a different form in HMV and is only about £40 and it's the same contents.
Anything released in the 1980's I wouldn't imagine is worth too much cash but I may be wrong.

1. The singles boxset had the singles inside with those horrible green picture sleeves and photo on the back. The black box set was the mail-order set (which included the Sgt. Peppers single) and books at around £25-£30. In mint condition you could probably get about £50 for it.

2. I've seen the vinyl version of Beatles Box, but not the cassette version. The set doesn't actually feature in the price guides, but from experience the vinyl version is worth around £30. I don't know what the cassette version is worth.

3. The Beatles Collection (BC 13) contains the vinyl stereo pressings of all the Beatle LPs and is worth about £70-£80.

4. Released in 1981 like the others, this set included repressings of all 14 EPs plus a bonus one. Is worth about £50.
