If you could have written any Beatle song that was either released or unreleased, what would it be and why. My choice would be Hey Jude as it's a lovely song and such a great crowd pleaser.

If I had written any Beatles song, it would definitely be "Let It Be". So profound and moving.

I'm sure that if George hadn't done it already, I could have written "I Want To Tell You". I feel like that the whole time!
I'm not sure what song I would choose to write - just about any one of them will do!

Strawberry Fields Forever for the line "no one I think is in my tree, I mean it must be high or low"
or Day In The Life for "found my way upstairs and had a smoke, somebody spoke and I went into a dream"

I'd say "Octopus' Garden" or "Yellow Submarine" so kids all over the world would know a song i wrote by heart.
If I really wanted the song to by a hit, nowadays, would be "And I love her" because those little teenybopper girls these days will eat up even the most pathetic love song, so why not put a nice quality one in the mix.

"Dark Horse", "Simply Shady", "So Sad", "Far East Man", "Hari's On Tour (Express)"... That is so not the worst George album... http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/tongue.gif
That title, in my opinion, should go to "Gone Troppo"... but that's a topic that should be on another Forum.
Oh! I could have written "Far East Man" instead of Ron Wood... then the "Harrison/Horse" credits could appear again. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/smile.gif
P.S.: "Mind Games" is John's worst... after "Some Time In NYC", and you can't deny it. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/tongue.gif

Awwww, don't give me that little frowny face, Darky. You have to admit that POB is NOT John's best. It's kind of....bland. And the best song on there - MOTHER - is soooooo much better live in New York City. It's a good album, though, I'm not saying it's not. Just saying it's my least favorite.
Do you still love me?

That album makes me shiver... I can't find another album so emotional and sincere... "Mother" sounds awful in New York (if you'll excuse me), then you have "Isolation", which is one of the most beautiful songs ever... "Working Class Hero", "Hold On" and of course, "Love" and "God"... You can't imagine what that album means to me...
So no, I don't love you anymore. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/frown.gif

...I can relate. In fact, I wish
I had written the song "Love" myself-- a
real, timeless classic I say!!! Beyond that,
another favorite (Beatle) song that I wished
I'd written (though there are SO many) would
be "In my Life". And yet, maybe "Penny Lane"(?)-- God-- they're all so good!!-http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/wink.gif

As an entire album, I also think that Plastic Ono Band is John's best by far. Every song stands by itself and as a group is an awesome musical statement of John's uninhibited feelings to that time.
