George plays a great solo on this Belinda Carlisle song. Good pop song in itself, George's slide lifts it above other throwaway pop songs.

Since nobody seems to want to talk about this one....
I think George's contribution puts the album from throw away to.....well seems like it is not so rememberable for George fans either.
I love his slide here and for some reason, that the techincal people may be able to explain, it seems 'different' to his other slide pieces.

... probably one of my all-time favorite George slide solos !
I was so excited when I first heard it... I was watching a video channel.... when I came across the clip for "Leave a light on for me", right about the time when the song came out.
... and as soon as I heard the solo, I knew it has "he"... and sure enough, the v.j. confirmed it after the clip...
Lucky for me the song was good enough for me NOT to switch channels before it got to the solo...

I use to have a download of this but it got lost somewhere along the way, so I haven't heard it in a little while. Brilliant solo from George, certainly one of his best.

I don't know, I just can compare this solo to the one he plays in "This Is Love" in terms of emotional reaches. It's just that great, and probably even more. This song gets rescued by George from complete oblivion, because it's your regular catchy pop 80's song which was not even a hit.
I don't think I've ever heard more about Belinda (she was quite beautiful BTW)...
It's not that one doesn't WANT to talk about the song... we've spoken about it plenty of times actually. :smile1:

Yes we've talked about this song before. But I don't mind to repeat that it's one the greatest slide solo's on a otherwise nice little pop tune. I actually bought the album for it, and it's a nice album but George's contributions lifts the whole thing to another level.

It seems faster to me.
