Wolf, you've got several dates mixed up. Would you like me to fix them or send you the proper dates?

Maybe they are the dates on which they peaked on the charts. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/thinker.gif It confused me there for a second and then I realized that Wolf put the day and then the month instead of American style where the month is first.

------------------
This week, the Beatles greatest hits album, "1", is at number forty-nine on the USA album charts. "Wingspan: Hits and History" by Paul McCartney is at number fifteen.

I noticed that right off, mindgames. But the dates are not all correct, if he's referring to release dates.

Sorry for the European dates, forgot to adjust that, lol.

The dates are not release dates! It`s the dates the albums entered the US charts!

Wolf,
The Beatles with 19 #1 LPs are #1 in that regard.
In fact they have 1 more #1 LP than the 2nd(Elvis Presley 9)and 3rd(Rolling Stones 9) place acts combined!

Not exactly...it`s the date the albums entered the charts, not the dates they peaked! But you were close!

Close is right. Considering that some of these LPs reached #1 within a week of release.

A few I beleive entered at #1.

Another interesting bit o' trivia-37 years between their first week at #1(Meet the Beatles!) and the last (1).

None of the Beatles` albums in the 60s debuted at #1 in Billboard (the first time this happened was in 1975 with an Elton John album). In the 60s, the week of chart placings and sales didn`t correspondent. Many of the Beatles` albums sold around 1 million copies in their debut week in the US, which was usually more than what the then current #1 album in the US sold, but still none of the Beatlesī albums debuted at #1...

Details (1965 to 1969):

"Beatles `65" went 98-1

"Beatles VI" went 149-48-1

"Help!" went 148-61-1

"Rubber Soul" went 106-60-1

"Yesterday And Today" went 120-18-2-1

"Revolver" went 45-1

"Sgt. Pepper" went 8-1

"Magical Mystery Tour" went 157-4-1

"The Beatles" went 11-2-1

"Yellow Submarine" went 86-6-3-2-2 (peak)

"Abbey Road" went 178-4-1

In today`s album chart, it is very likely that ALL of the above albums would have entered the chart at #1 (based on their impressive first week sales - even by today`s standards)
