...for ME! Yep, I've enrolled in online classes at Axia College of Western International University, partner to Phoenix University Online!

I'm gunning for my BA in accounting - gettin' a lil old to be working 7 days a week, hoping for tips to keep the ship afloat, doncha know.

Gimme some good thoughts, guys, and while I don't post much don't fret - I'm still lurking around.........

Wow, Sleepy, that's great! Congratulations! I'm with Rell, I really admire people who decide at a "certain age" to make a career and life change...I'm sure you will do fine!!

I also have to say, like luvs, that when I read the title of this thread I was thinking -- "wait, Jamie just finished school YESTERDAY...surely the schools in Louisiana don't start up again NOW!!" :laugh2:

Congrats Sleepy! I really do admire people who wish to return to college after they've gotten married, had kids and are already involved in a busy lifestyle. I know you'll do great, and it'll be a great opportunity for you not just to take some courses again but will also open some new doors for your career in the next few years... best of luck to you! :smile1:

One week down, eight more to go for the first two courses. Dunno how to assess the classes just yet - it IS just the first week, after all.

Attendance is checked by the dates the program records my posts in the homework or individual newsgroup. Even when I've done all the homework, I have to split it up and turn it in on 2 separate days to be counted as having attended for the week.

Participation takes place in the classroom or main newsgroup. This is kind of abstract, to my way of thinking - I first have to post a response to the discussion question. Then I have to reply to at least 2 other students' responses on 3 separate days.

Both of those are necessary parts of the overall classroom - if either one drops to an unacceptable level, you're dropped!

The good thing is that participation is only required in one of the classes each week, but you don't get to pick which one - it's scheduled...

My course essay is about the differences between on-ground classes and online classes - any questions from you guys would help me organize my information.

So, if you don't mind, if you have or know of anyone who has questions or doubts about attending college online, please post them...
