Call me crazy... while I absolutely HAVE to listen to the first four albums by the boys in STEREO, I prefer the mono mix of the Sgt. Pepper album. Maybe it's because I grew up with it but "Lucy In The Sky" sounds dreamier, "She's Leaving Home" is alittle faster and the clucking chicken that leads into the "Reprise" sounds like he gets strangled when it turns into the guitar notes and that makes me laugh.

Any thoughts on the MONO version of Pepper?

It does seem to be a better mix, from what i've ehard(I do have all 13 tracks as mp3s),but it does seem warmer almost than the stereo.

Seriously, that's the joy of Mono vs. Stereo. The chance to hear things differently amazes people. They think they know the song, until it's played the other way.
Personally, I like the album both ways. Can't explain why, I just do.

I'm lucky to have the mono sgt. pepper on vinyl, and the sound is just amazing. I've always said that vinyl has a much warmer and more natural sound than CD, and the mono mix is greatly superior to the stereo mix.

Plus, Paul's voice on 'She's Leaving Home' is nothing like his voive on Revolver. PiD clue there methinks. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/wink.gif
