Do you think he's going thru a mid-life crisis? Why doesn't he get a sports car like everyone else. He's acting like he's 12 yrs. old. She's not stupid her career is going thru the roof.I guess he wants all this publicity for his new movie but it's having the opposite effect on me.I'm sick of him!I don't think I'll ever watch a movie of his ever again.I always thought he was over-rated to begin with!

HAHA! I've a had a few drinks and took me ages to work out what this was about!
I've never rated Tom Cruise bu I enjoyed him in Collateral! His new movie my wife wants to see so I will see it but it looks a bit crap - give me the original any day!
As for Katie Holmes - Dawsons Creek says it all!!

I like the guy. He's a good actor and I respect him for spending hours out on the red carpet meeting all the fans and saying hello to them.
It's just like the media to whip all this up into a huge ball of fury. Personally I just ignore all of it and focus on what he's paid to do.

Media? He's the one standing on furniture acting like a 2 yr. old. He's bring it upon himself.if he didn't want them to know anything we wouldn't say anything. He's usually a pretty private person.

As I've said before, it's just such a waste of energy to bother to hate celebrities who are overexposed. Just ignore them, turn off the TV, put back the magazine, whatever. And I also don't really think it makes you a fool to do goofy things if you're in love. I think most of us have done at least one goofy thing in the name of love during our lives.

In the UK the most we got was "Tom Cruise has proposed at the Eiffel Tower" and that was that. The water-squirting 'joke' at the premiere of War of the Worlds actually made bigger headlines (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/film/4107922.stm).

Oh Suz, I DO ignore him...though it's hard to do when he's on the front page of every freakin' newspaper and magazine......but I could care less, I don't hate him or anything, it is definitely a waste of time to do that.

I do the same - I've learned to just ignore them, change the channel if they're on the news, look away from magazine covers or whatever. There's a number of celebrities who drive me nuts, but I refuse to waste my time getting worked up about them. :tongue1: I don't even know what's going on with Tom nowadays, I tune out when he's on the news. :wink1:

I've always been neutral with Tom, but I always liked Katie (for obvious reasons). I just hope she knows what she's getting into.
But there is a funny little tidbit from this story. As you all may know, I'm a Survivor nut. So when my sister ran upstairs and told my mom and I that Tom and Katie were engaged, I said, "No, they're not! He's way too good for her, and besides, he's already married!" I thought she meant the winner and runner-up of the last Survivor installment, Tom (http://www.cbs.com/primetime/survivor10/survivors/bio/tom.shtml) and Katie (http://www.cbs.com/primetime/survivor10/survivors/bio/katie.shtml).

Yeah, the title gives pretty much no info whatsoever. I came in because I was curious what a "tom-kat" was.

how about the squirt in the face(fake mike with a squirt gun in it with water) that he got from some show(they sent the guy, a reporter on the premise of an interview with Tom), they thought it would be a funny thing to do? I thought he(Tom) was very gentlemanly about it, Tom called the guy a jerk, now that was controlled. What if it had been acid or something like that, there are star stalking weirdos out there.

Katie Holmes was engaged to Chris Klein one week, broke it off with him the next, and was dating Tom Cruise the week after that. And now they're engaged! I don't care how in love with another person you are, planning to wed after knowing one another two months is moving WAY too fast.
I wish them all the best, because I've like Katie since she was on Dawson's Creek (a past guilty-pleasure) but I'm afraid this will probably end in heartbreak for someone.
