View Full Version : Sequels?

Somebody just asked me if there were any Beatles songs that were "sequels" to an earlier song. I've always heard that "I'm So Tired" was sort of a sequel to "I'm Only Sleeping." Including their solo stuff, can anybody think of any others?

No, I hadn't heard that one... interesting subject, though. How about it, anyone? Know of any sequels existing in any of the catalogues (group or solo)?

Do these count?
This song and My Sweet Lord
This guitar can't keep from crying and While my guitar gently weeps
Here comes the moon and Here comes the sun.

Isn't "Penny Lane" some sort of reply to "Strawberry Fields Forever"? They just sound so well together in that single... http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/confused.gif

In a roundabout way, Paul's "Tug Of War" connects with "Pipes Of Peace" and ultimately "Tug Of Peace" (from the "Pipes.." album).
Plus the connection between John's "How Do You Sleep" and "Steel & Glass"... and "Mother" (big bells) and "Starting Over" (small bells).

How about "I Am The Walrus" and "God" (where John says "I was the walrus/but now I'm John")?

John has said that "Yes It Is" was a remake of "This Boy"
