I was just having some fun on a Roy Orbison board, replying to someone's questions about "Ooby Dooby" and I also added that, after one has danced the "Ooby Dooby", one could then do the "Wilbury Twist"...

... someone took me to my word and said that I'd just created a new dance !

That got me to reply the following...

... nope, got to credit the Traveling Wilburys for that one (Wilbury Twist)...

However, now that you mention it (and maybe that's what you meant), if someone does combine the "Ooby Dooby"... AND the "Wilbury Twist", within the SAME dance... then yes... I'll accept the paternity for that "invention" !

Actually, wow... NOW you've got me thinking !

Why doesn't a Jeff Lynne create a track, using the recordings of both those songs.... and mixing them together ?

If done properly, it would be fantastic !

("Wilbury Twist" intro, on a loop, as Roy then jumps in)

Hey baby, jump over here
When you do the ooby-dooby I just gotta be near
Ooby-dooby, ooby-dooby, ooby-dooby, ooby-dooby
Ooby-dooby, ooby-dooby, ooby-dooby,
dooby-do-wah-do-wah-do-wah

Put your hand on your head
Put your foot in the air
Then you hop around the room
In your underwear
Ain’t ever been nothin quite like this
Come on baby do the wilbury twist

(insert Roy's first guitar solo)

Well you wiggle to the left, you wiggle to the right
You do the ooby-dooby with all of your might
Ooby-dooby, ooby-dooby, ooby-dooby, ooby-dooby
Ooby-dooby, ooby-dooby, ooby-dooby,
dooby-do-wah-do-wah-do-wah

Lift your other foot up
And fall on your a**
Get back up
Put your teethi in a glass
Ain’t ever been nothin quite like this
It’s a magical thing called the wilbury twist

Well you wiggle and you shake like a big rattlesnake
You do the ooby-dooby ’till you think you have a break
Ooby-dooby, ooby-dooby, ooby-dooby, ooby-dooby
Ooby-dooby, ooby-dooby, ooby-dooby,
dooby-do-wah-do-wah-do-wah

(insert the Wilburys' piano/guitar/madoline solo)

Roll up your rug
Dust your broom
Ball the jack
Howl at the moon
Ain’t ever been nothing quite like this
Everybody’s trying to do the wilbury twist
Ooby-dooby, ooby-dooby, ooby-dooby, ooby-dooby
Ooby-dooby, ooby-dooby, ooby-dooby,
dooby-do-wah-do-wah-do-wah

Turn your lights down low
Put your blindfold on
You’ll never know
Where your friends have gone
Could be years before you’re missed
Everybody’s trying to do the wilbury twist

Well you’ve been strutting ’cause now you know
Let’s do the ooby-dooby, baby let’s go!

(insert Roy's second guitar solo)

It’s a different dance
For you to do
Spin your body
Like a screw

Ooby-dooby, ooby-dooby, ooby-dooby, ooby-dooby
Ooby-dooby, ooby-dooby, ooby-dooby,
dooby-do-wah-do-wah-do-wah
Better not forget it on your shopping list

Ooby-dooby, ooby-dooby, ooby-dooby, ooby-dooby
Ooby-dooby, ooby-dooby, ooby-dooby,
dooby-do-wah-do-wah-do-wah

You can stop and buy one, it’s the wilbury twist

Ooby-dooby, ooby-dooby, ooby-dooby, ooby-dooby
Ooby-dooby, ooby-dooby, ooby-dooby,
dooby-do-wah-do-wah-do-wah

Thats great! I'd love Jeff to do it. Any "new" Wilbury songs would be fine with me!

... and with today's technology, they could even make a very good video for it... just imagine: the 1990 Wilburys "interacting" with a, young, 1956 Roy !

I'd love to see Bob,Tom and Jeff do something together. Bob and Tom's voices work well together and with Bob playing more piano than guitar these days you could have Bob on piano, tom lead guitar, jeff bass and Jim back on drums. A song like mississipi from Dylans Love and Theft would take on a whole new sound!

I think if Anyroad had harmonies on it and a bit less slide guitar and more acoustics it would sound like a Wilbury song. Wasn't it written around the same period as the Wilburys?

Oh, don't get me started... LOL

... I could (also) see Jeff splice George's "Any road", with Roy's "Ride away" or "I drove all night"...
