I love the Rutles and their Beatle-sound. I've got the Rockumentry of the Rutles on video and I love watching it. I've got the album of the film too. The song 'Get Up And Go' is brilliant.

Favorite song would have to be "I must be in love", just cuz' I picture that goofy part in the movie every time I hear it! All the songs are great, actually - it's rare that parody songs stand up musically, but these do! I'm a huge Python fan (any others out there?), so anything that Eric Idle is in (well, almost...he's made some LOUSY movies!) is ok by me!

I love Python as well, still miss Graham http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/frown.gif.
Doubleback Alley does perfectly spoof Penny Lane, as does Ouch! with Help!

Considering that I live in a complete opposite side of the world from most of you, would somebody be kind and explain to me what exactly is that "Rutles" thing?
I know it's a kind of a Beatle-parody band from Saturday Night Live, but I've never seen them.
More details, please...

The Rutles were the parody group Eric Idle, of Monthy Python fame, dreamed up. It started as a skit on Saturday Night Live and was eventually made into a movie, "All You Need Is Cash".
The comedy is splendid and the guys do a good job in the film. If you ever get the chance to see the video of it, do so.

I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to actually find it here in this third-world country, but thanks, bearkat. As always, you're right there when needed. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/smile.gif

The Rutles: A Legend that would last a lunchtime...
"The Rutles" has just been released on DVD with bonus footage, the CD soundtrack, etc. but as far as favorite Rutles Songs:
From the show, it'd say "Between Us" and "Let's Be Natural".
From The Rutles' Archaeology CD it would have to be"Lonely-phobia", "Now She's Left You" and "Hey Mister".
Long Live Dirk, Nasty, Stig and Barry!
