This is a Rolf Harris song, which the Beatles performed in the first edition of the From Us To You BBC Radio shows. They did this one in December 1963.

Someone mentioned to me that John and Paul sang backing vocals on the single released by this Rolf Harris somewhere early 60's.

Does anyone know about this?

There's an old Australian stockman, lying, dying, and he gets himself up on one elbow, and he turns to his mates, who are all gathered 'round him, and he says:

FPSHOT, it is true indeed. On December 18 1963 John, Paul and George recorded the song with Rolf Harris lead singer. The recording has been bootlegged.

As most of you probably don't know, the song is Rolf’s legendary satire on American involvement in Vietnam. He's quite an Aussie icon here, I'm sure the Brits are familiar with him as well.

The date you mention is the same date as the BBC recording where The Beatles performed aout 8 other songs. So, any additional info?

I heared that Rolf Harris was recording at Abbey Road but I guess that's wrong, or not.

They recorded it at BBC Paris Studio in London... might wanna check this page though mate, it lists all the boots that the song appears on & might have what you're after (were you wondering anything specifically?):

Yeah, we know good ol' Rolf. He hosts a TV program called Animal Hospital which is like a huge vets, and they film what happens and follows the life of patients.

He's also starring in a commercial for drinking milk!
