I'd want "She Said She Said", "Because" and almost everything off The White Album....along with a lot of other stuff that I love that just isn't played enough!
I wouldn't say that these songs are any better than something like "Penny Lane" though - everybody has different favourites so of course they are going to like some songs more than others - but that doesn't mean that those songs aren't as good.
Well in some cases, anyway!

Joe and Lucy :
My wish list would be songs like : "Things We Said Today", "You Can't Do That", "Do Let Me Down", and of course, any thing from the WHITE ALBUM.....
It would be nice to FlashBack to the past and revisit the '60s music-wise.

My picks would include: "Julia", "One After 909", "A Day In The Life", Helter Skelter", "While My Guitar Gently Weeps", Side 2 of Abbey Road and many more. These are just the first few I thought of.

Great topic! I was listening to "1" played on the radio Saturday and thinking "You know, the big hits are NOT among my favorites!"
I'd pick "One after 909", "Two of Us", "Helter Skelter", "Tomorrow Never Knows", "If I needed someone", "Lovely Rita"...oh, stop me now or I'll go on forever! http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/smile.gif

I think the same way, Rellevart!
I would choose Two Of Us, Across The Universe, Norwegian Wood, For No One, Cry Baby Cry, Girl, and Dear Prudence. There are so many more, but I'd take up the whole forum if I went any further!!

I would pick some songs like "Taxman", "Run For Your Life", "In My Life", "Strawberry Fields Forever", "Magical Mystery Tour", most of the songs from "The White Album", and most of the songs from Sgt. Pepper's and Rubber Soul.

Well I guess we all have to agree that whatever it is that The Beatles (or Apple, whatever) would release as a new CD next year won't make each and every one of us happy. I'd say that next step for Apple is the re-releasing of the "Let It Be" movie (come on, we've been waiting long!!!), an official CD edition of a live concert ("Live At The Hollywood Bowl", "Live At The Star Club In Hamburg" or "Live At The Budokan Hall" could be some choices), the complete and official "Decca Audition" CD or some kind of "Rarities" CD with alternative mono versions of some tracks that sound different on albums like the "White Album" (particularly) or "Sgt.Pepper", and with other oddities, like the "Help!" single version, the "I'm Looking Through You" version with false start, the "I'll Cry Instead" US version and other stuff… Well Apple, there you have some ideas.
But my ideal CD with 27 favourite-not-always-well-rated songs would be conformed by:
1. There's A Place
2. I Wanna Be Your Man
3. This Boy
4. I'm Happy Just To Dance With You
5. I'll Cry Instead
6. I've Just Seen A Face
7. Yes It Is
8. You Won't See Me
9. In My Life
10. Rain
11. Taxman
12. Here, There And Everywhere
13. And Your Bird Can Sing
14. Tomorrow Never Knows
15. With A Little Help From My Friends
16. A Day In The Life
17. Strawberry Fields Forever
18. Hey Bulldog
19. It's All Too Much
20. While My Guitar Gently Weeps
21. Happiness Is A Warm Gun
22. Dear Prudence
23. I've Got A Feeling
24. Don't Let Me Down
25. Octopus's Garden
26. Here Comes The Sun (I can't believe I had left my favourite Harrisong out of my list!)
27. Golden Slumbers/Carry That Weight/The End
Although reducing my list of favourites to just 27 songs it's kind of hard. Let's have the entire catalogue remixed now! (And please make it with good, informative booklets!) http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/smile.gif

Darkhorse, I know most if not all of these are next to impossible to get in Chile... it's the same for me pretty much here in Aus. If you have a look around at www.ebay.com (http://www.ebay.com) you'll find all of these available. I picked up "Live At The Hollywood Bowl", "Live At The Star Club In Hamburg" and "Live In Hamburg" very cheaply indeed. As these are quite rare, they can sometimes be a little pricey on ebay too. For instance, the Hollywood Bowl CD can most times fetch up to US$100... I was lucky enough to get one for just $25.
There's plenty to choose from there though, it has pretty much everything you want at almost always a decent price... movies too.

I'll try that, Nowhere Man, thanks for your concern. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/smile.gif
Not hard to find, they are impossible to find. Along with a lot of "official" material (specially the solo albums) that just doesn't arrive to these parts of the world.
But an official, massive edition of some of those CDs I mentioned above would make them more accesible to the distant fans... http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/wink.gif

Couldn't agree with you more. Though I think anything produced about 20-30 years ago is probably due to reach us any year now. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/wink.gif

Welcome dr.winston o'boggie to beatlelinks.net! Hope you keep posting... And I'm really glad you like "Rain", as many people may know here, my absolute favorite song in the whole Beatles catalogue.
I hope you will enjoy the show... http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/smile.gif
