Ok, since we have "What's your favorite to sing along to", I thought it'd be fun to talk about "What's your favorite Beatles song to dance to?"
I could not pick just one, but "Hey Bulldog", "Helter Skelter", "The Ballad of J&Y" and "One After 909" would have to be at the top of my list. Particularly when played by a live band, where they're often a teeny bit faster than the records! http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/smile.gif

I could dance to basically any of the songs on the first 4 albums, I love dancing to early Beatle songs. I also like dancing to love you to, it's more of a freakish jig that is done solely in the privacy of my room. I also love Your Mother should know and Hello, Goodbye. Heck I'll dance to any of their songs if I'm in the mood.

Great topic you chose, Rellevart. (By the way, YOU are the Backwards Traveller, aren't you? http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/smile.gif I just realized that).
Anyway, I dance to "Get Back", "The Ballad Of John And Yoko", "Lady Madonna", "I Should Have Known Better" and "Old Brown Shoe" (yes, even that one). But I agree, any of the songs from the first four albums can make me dance more easily. Specially "Boys", "Everybody's Trying To Be My Baby", "I Saw Her Standing There", "I Wanna Be Your Man", "Roll Over Beethoven" and "Rock And Roll Music". Those songs are particularly uplifting. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/smile.gif

I'd really really like to see how you dance to "Revolution 9" http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/smile.gif

"Day Tripper" and "Hey Bulldog" are two of my faves to dance to.
Did anyone know that you can do the Chicken Dance to "Lady Madonna"? Try it - it works!

Twist and Shout is a good one to dance to and you could dance to Rev#9, it would have to be one to those interpritive dance things, were all your movements mean something.

Interesting thought - I can see the 'Macarena' working with a Lady Madonna interpretation too... instead of "Hey Macarena!" it'd be "La-dy Madonna!"

My favs to dance to would be "I Saw Her Standing There", "Boys", "Hold Me Tight"...hmmmm actually I can groove to almost all of them.
One night the DJ in a retro sort of nightclub I frequent made the mistake of playing "She Loves You". I went totally crazy (as did everybody else in there) and discovered that that one too is a hot little dance number.

Oh yeah, I forgot about "I wanna be your man"; that's a great dance tune! And yes Lynner, I know about the Chicken Dance and Lady Madonna; we've done it many times! http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/smile.gif

You can do the waltz to "I Me Mine". John and Yoko did in the movie.

I'd dance to that song but I think that if I didn't have my curtains drawn and my door shut, a neighbor or one of my family members might call 911 or the locally luney bin thinking I've spazzed out.

Unless of course I wish to be taken to the luney bin. You know, work brings me down and stresses me out so I go home turn Revolution 9 on as high as possible and dance my little heart out on the front lawn. In a matter of hours I'm in a nice little room with padded walls and a nice escape from the rat race going on about me.

Dead serious and in all seriousness I'm contemplating doing it today. My life is so stressful right now it would be nice to be given a vacation with no distractions. It sounds very appealing right now.

HeyBeatle! What kind of work do you do that stresses you out that bad? It can't be good for you. Of course really it's none of my business...but I've been there and "Stess stinks! Arrid Works!" http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/wink.gif oops! Broke into a commercial quote...I wouldn't know if arrid works, not my brand. he he he
NO really stress like that can mess with one's head, so be careful and groove to the Fab 4 until you feel better! http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/grin.gif

I actually feel much better I just had a spazz out day or nearly week but I'm happy now cause it's snowing and the 5 and a half hour practice I was supposed to have was cancelled, I also patched up a tiff I had with a friend so now I feel more like " Good day sunshine" than self destructive dancing to "Revolution 9". Thank you for your concern though. I'm thinking I oughta get a mantra and practice meditation or something like that. How does "Jai Guru Deva Om" sound? hehe.
