OK, I know this question might be considered as dullish or silly, but I'm going through a period of my life where everything is. (You know what I mean).
And since Valentine Day is coming, I would like you to share with us The Beatles' (or solo Beatles') songs that had something to do with some of your own love stories. (It's easy to identify yourself with the songwriter when a song is well-written, and The Beatles' songs always are http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/smile.gif).
You don't need to tell the story, just talk about the song that reminds you of it, or something like that... http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/smile.gif And you don't need to talk about the BEST Beatle love songs, just talk about the ones that had something to do with your own life.
In my case, my choices would be "My Love" by Wings; "Maybe I'm Amazed" by Paul; "In My Life", "The Long And Winding Road", "You Won't See Me" and "I Want To Tell You" by The Beatles; "Photograph" and "Without Her" by Ringo; and "Surprise, Surprise (Sweet Bird Of Paradox)" by John.
Yes, "You Won't See Me" is there too. It's a nice tune to break up with someone. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/frown.gif

A very good topic to discuss, darkhorse. There are so many to choose from. If I had the time to think about this, it might take an entire page. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/wink.gif
Just off the top of my head, I'd say these songs fit the topic:
"I Should Have Known Better", "I Will", "She Loves You", "Ticket To Ride", "I'll Get You", "You've Got To Hide Your Love Away", "I Need You", "I Don't Want To Spoil The Party", "Photograph" and "Woman".

All My Loving was playing at an 8th grade party when I was trying to impress a young lady. Yes, 8th grade and brand new music released on us all.

Well, sorry if I'm quoting myself, but I want to correct what I just said. If you ALWAYS are going to "identify yourself" (literally) with the emotions of the songwriter, you could eventually go crazy and believe that EVERYTHING is written for you (I think that's what happened to the maniac who killed John). So I'd say it's important to discuss this because "music is the soundtrack of our lives".
And we know what is the best music ever made.

Ok here's a few of my favs (ie what will be played at my wedding regardless of the opinions of my husband to be):
"Love" " Stand by me" John
" Silly Love Songs" Paul
"Here, there, and everywhere", " I will", " For you blue","Something"
There are many many more but I can't think of them right now.

"Don't Let Me Down" was a huge hit when my then-future husband and I were falling in love with each other. It was springtime and all was right with the world. Every time we hear that song we re-live some very tender memories of a remarkable time in our lives. BTW, we'll be celebrating our 29th Anniversary this April. Thanks for the question, darkhorse!

Though not technically a "love song", I'd have to put "Two of Us" near the top of my sentimental song list because the line "You and I have memories longer than the road that stretches out ahead" will always make me think of somebody who was very special in my life.
Another favorite that I often thought I'd like played at my wedding (if I ever got married, which seems quite unlikely at this point!) was "Tell me what you see". I don't think that's one most people would immediately think of, but go listen to the words - perfect!

Well, back in like 9th grade, I had this huge crush on this girl. Trust me guys, she was pretty sweet. And being a complete dork, I had no way to express myself. So I did the next best thing. I stuffed a letter in her locker with the lyrics to "Something" written on it. Now, how's that for Mr. Romantic? Needless to say, that was pretty much the end of that.
But of course, I had the last laugh. I saw her recently at my 10 year high school reunion. Let's just say that the years have not been kind. I'm still the same complete dork, but that's beside the point.http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/grin.gif

I absolutely love that song. That is definitely at the top of the platonic love song list.

I have a bootleg of "Something" and it's soooo romantic....more beautiful than the one that's on the albums! I often wonder why it's not the version that was released!

What a great question!! Actually I've found that since I've been listening to the Beatles constantly for years, I'm always adding new ones. That's one of the wonderful things about being a Beatles fan. They have such a massive catalog of indelible tunes that as we get older we each start associating various periods in our life, or loves of our life, or just certain quick fleeting moments with a specific song that may have been stuck in our heads or been playing from the car radio at any given time. And with the Beatles we are sure to hear those songs again often when we least expect it, suddenly carrying us back to that place. Plus with over 200+ tunes as a group and even more as solo artists we can continue building these associations for a lifetime.
Unfortunately for me there is one song that particularly stands out and immediately comes to mind for me in regards to this example. In high school I had fallen hopelessly in love with a girl, but being extremely shy never said anything. Finally I was sitting in my car wondering what to do when "Hey Jude" came on the radio. "You've found her, now go out an get her....." Great Paul! I think, I'll do that! Bolstered by the endorsement of the Beatles, I marched right up to her, told her what I'd been feeling, and asked if she would go out with me..... Let's just say at that moment I really wished the DJ had chosen to play "You've Got To Hide Your Love Away" instead. This is one instance in which I shouldn't have listened to what the man said.

Dear Emperor, it's a pleasure to talk to you for the first time. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/wink.gif Specially when I've been out for some time.
But, who's Mr.Romantic? Me? http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/smile.gif
It's the first time someone calls me that way! http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/wink.gif

Well darkhorse, the "Emperor" title is something that the forum program calls us. I don't like it, but changing it would require a lot of work. I think "Webmaster" would sound much better. Or even nothing at all. My name is Jerry, so that's really the only thing I like being called.
But as for the "Mr. Romantic" thing I said before, I was actually just making fun of myself (not hard to do). It's a figure of speech, but I can see where you got confused. You're doing very well with your English by the way. But hey, if you think you're romantic, then I can't disagree with you.

Thanks for the helping Jerry, and for paying attention to my attempts in writing on another language. Sorry if there was any confusion.
And I don't know about anyone who's not a romantic person. The Beatles were too, so we have to be proud if we're called that way (I never got upset or anything http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/wink.gif)
To add a little something, and to return to the topic of discussion (which could easily be re-named as "(Silly) Love songs" http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/smile.gif), I thought about "Bless You", by John Lennon as being a wonderful love song. (I see it that way, maybe some of you don't).
