This WAS a treat jtal909!!! Thank you very much for posting this for us! For No One is one of my very favorite songs by the Beatles.....and with Rickie Lee Jones covering it makes it all the better...er, not better than the Beatles, though! Hee hee! Thanks again!

The tempo was a little slower than I'm accustomed to, but all-in-all not a bad job. BTW, did anyone notice the credit listing - J.W.Lennon, P.J.McCartney. I can understand the J.W. (John Winston), but P.J. should have been J.P. (James Paul).

I noticed that, too, 'kat, and thought the very same thing. jtal, thanks so much. "For Noone" is one of my very, very favorites. I think Ricki did a nice job. At least she respected the melody and feeling of the song. Of course, the original is still the best version, but I really enjoyed hearing this interpretation.

Cool. Thanks for the head's up! Most cover tunes of Beatles songs are horrible (probably because of the inevitable comparison to the original artists), but her version is great! Its really sparsley beautiful with just the piano, organ and vocals. If there are any fans out there of the group Traffic, her version of "Low Spark of High Heeled Boys" is also really cool. I've got that on the Real Player as I'm typing this.

Thanks, jtal, that was a treat indeed! http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/smile.gif
I have a warm fuzzy for that song, since they were in the studio working on it the day I was born.
Off-topic, this looks like a good album by Rickie Lee...it has one of my very favorite non-Beatles songs on it: Smile, by Charlie Chaplin. Plus I love, love, LOVE all that Gershwin stuff.
