I have the CD "Please Please Me". The CD is from the 1963 Original Sound Recordings made by EMI Records LTD on Parlophone Record. (Barcode #7777-46435-2). I noticed on the back of the CD where the listing of the songs are given, the songwriter credits are : "McCartney / Lennon", not "Lennon / McCartney". I thought Paul and John agreed the songwriting credits would always be "Lennon / McCartney" and I remembered Paul making this remark on the Anthology VHS tapes. Is this a printing error on the CD or is the "Please Please Me" songs back in 1963 year too early to care about this issue..? What's everybody input or remarks about this question..? Thanks,
GV

If I recall, "Love Me Do" is properly credited to McCartney/Lennon. All songs that followed were agreed upon to be listed as Lennon/McCartney.

Why did they switch?

I'm not quite sure. Maybe they just wanted to list their names alphabetically.

Just sounds better.
Imagine if the following duos where swapped, and what they'd sound like:
Eve and Adam,
Pepper and Salt,
Chips and Fish,
White and Black,
Garfunkel and Simon,
Handling and Shipping,

"Shout out twist, oooh"

Colin is the one person to answer this and he's correct.

George, you're so fine, but beware of lawyers, they can hit you, they can hurt you. We are still Apple Scruffs., I'd have the album anytime.
