Sloan is a very well known band from Canada, been around since 1991. They have 7 albums out and used to sound a lot like the Beatles until Pretty Together came out. Andrew, Chris, Patrick and Jay are very important to the Canadian music scene and anyone who hasn't heard of them should definetly check their music out!

Sloan is a great band. And you are right they did some awesome Beatleish sounding songs. Coax Me is one that springs to mind.

I liked Sloan a lot better a few years ago. "Money City Maniacs" is a good one, from the "Navy Blues" album.
They could have been huge. Even by 'Can-Con' standards they aren't that big. It is too bad, because they are very talented.

I like Sloan, they're a great band and they really can write great pop songs with clever hooks and melodies, One Chord To Another and Navy Blues are my two favorites.
