Am I the only person here who appreciates Revolution #9? Sure, this song sound rubbish the first time you listen to it, but if you really start to get into the song you realise how deep it really is, and that's when it becomes good.

If you really want to scare yourself, try listening to it backwards!

John wrote it for you. Remember? http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/wink.gif

You were hiding in a cave in Rishikesh and he started to sing

"Dear Chey
Won't you come out to play...?"

And you eventually came out and started playing with him and the rest of the boys...

But he lately realized that it didn't sound so good. So he changed the name to "Prudence", because he was a very prudent man. And, just like it happened to "Sexy Sadie" (which was originally titled "Maharishi"), the real name of the person who inspired the song was unknown...

Until now, of course... http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/wink.gif

Without a doubt for me it's "Happiness is a warm gun"... John's singing is wonderful as it is on "I'm So Tired"...

And no Harbidge you are NOT alone. While I don't listen to "Revolution #9" hour after hour, I too appreciate the art behind it. You should hear the whole thing in reverse! It a whole different world and made me a beliver in back-masking records. I don't know yet how the phrases "Number nine" and "Rise" become "Turn Me On Dead Man" and "Let Me Out" respectively, reversed.

Definitely my fav song on the album would have to be "While My Guitar Gently Weeps", but, like others have said, it depends on the mood I'm in. "Happiness is a warm gun", "Helter Skelter", "Blackbird", and "Savoy Truffle" rock too. But the whole album just rocks!!!!! OOH, the first time I heard Revolution 9 backwards, it was about 2 o'clock in the morning, and me and my friend were listening to my dad's old Beatle albums, and we played it backwards to see what we heard. It was scary!!!!! http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/afraid3.gif The whole "turn me on dead man" thing and when it sounds like munchkins are talking and the weird noises totally freaked me out. So of course we listened to it like 5 times.

I'm not sure. I like "Julia", "I'm So Tired", "Piggies", "Blackbird", "Sexy Sadie" and "Mother Nature's Son". They would be the standouts for me. The album was a little bit hit and miss. Still a classic though.

Sooo many. This is my favorite album but Glass Onion (Walrus, Jr.) is at the top, along with Prudence. And I'm one of those rare people that actually likes the acoustic Revolution. I like the "shooby do wahs". Actually, that version on anthology is the most ideal version. It has it all, including Paul's scream. Too bad that didn't make it on there.

is it me or can anyone else hear a very cute out of key paul´s voice in the first part of I will???
he sing "who knows, how long i´ve loved yooou..." and in this "you" he slides a little out of key. i found this out when i was trying to find the chords by listening exhaustively to this marvelous piece. and is sooooooo cute, very discreet, also.

Top 5 Disc One:
-Dear Prudence
-Glass Onion
-While My Guitar Gently Weeps
-Happiness Is A Warm Gun
-I'm So Tired

Top 5 Disc Two:
-Yer Blues
-Mother Nature's Son
-Sexy Sadie
-Helter Skelter
-Honey Pie

Top 3 White Album
-I'm So Tired
-Sexy Sadie
-Happiness Is A Warm Gun

My favorite song:
-Tie between I'm So Tired & Sexy Sadie

I recently got the White Album. So far, I clearly without a doubt say it's the best of The Beatles. Only Abbey Road is capable of beating it (so far, since I don't own Rubber Soul and many people say it's the best of them)
