View Full Version : Beatles Soap-Opera?

Here I am on a foggy Oregon afternoon home six from school and the cables gone out, not that I normally watch daytime tv but the only channel I get right now is CBS which has a full Soap-Opera line up.
Bobby.. Leah's dying from some rare flesh eating bacteria.. we have to help her...
It's creeping me out.. I was thinking how cool it would be to have a soap-opera about the beatles.. starting from their births with the little interwoven weird storys.. now THAT would be entertainment.

Sounds like fun.
Most of the playes on stage etc. were not so good though and there was never a real movie about the Beatles Years.

I'm just waiting for 23 January 2001 and I know what I will be doing.

That's actually a great idea. It could be an HBO series (so they could use language and make it real interesting).

Well, looks like we need a screen writer!!!
Was Jane a meanie at all because I'm much better at those roles, partly because I've never been cast in anything as a nice person. Hhehe in the local theatres production of Grease I played the Rizzo from hell.. heheheh that was fun.

I'm more of the behind-the-camera guy, so I guess I'll be the director. Anyone up to the task of writing a script?
Litl Lennon, you could be one of the Paul's kids.

OK, Jtal, see what you can come up with. FPSHOT, I'll let you be George. Besides their kids, we need some more members to portray Brian, Stu, Pete and George Martin. Any volunteers?

Hehehe! Yeah Jane probably would wonder what the casting people were on if she saw me.
She was a stick and the curves on me never stop!! Ha! Plus I'm pretty short, so that might be a problem.

Playing Aunt Mimi should be quite a challenge. Imagine telling John Lennon that he's wasting his time playing the guitar? I'll choke on the words! But, really, how was she to know what fate had in store for her nephew? I believe she really tried her best to raise John in the "proper" way. It must've been quite a challenge!

A soap opera would not be a movie. It would not be the entire history in one swoop. It would be a continous saga of the day in the life. It could start with the early days like when they met and maybe flashback on pivitol childhood events for a season or 2. Maybe the 3rd season cliffhanger could be at the threshold of Beatlemania. The next season could be like A Hard Day's Night but an entire season's worth. How would we get the rights to the songs? But it is an interesting idea.

Do you actually have to request permission to play a certain part or something?
litlringo, go ahead and play Lee if you like. From what I can see you don't have to beg for a part.
If you do, who is in charge of casting??

Dec 15, 2000, 10:01 PM
Who said anything about casting? If you want the part, you can have it. Providing that someone else hasn't taken that part.
