When we look at the forthcoming re-release, which are the favorite songs from the original album.

Mine are;

Ballad of Sir Frankie Crisp
Art of Dying
Wah Wah
From behind that locked door
Run of the mill
What is life

------------------
My Sweet Lord was inspired by the Edwin Hawkins Singers song Oh Happy Day - George in I Me Mine.

My favorites from ATMP are:

"My Sweet Lord", "Wah-Wah", "If Not For You", "Isn't It A Pity" and "What Is Life"

For some reason, I like "Awaiting on You All"; the words are a little silly, but it's so catchy!

Does anybody have the remixed version of All things Must Pass, and is it worth getting?
The buzz about this release has really quieted down.

The remastered version isn't available here yet. But my favorites in the original album are: "Art Of Dying", "Apple Scruffs", "All Things Must Pass", "I'd Have You Anytime", "My Sweet Lord", "What Is Life" and "Run Of The Mill".

My favorites include: "From Behind That Locked Door", "Wah Wah", and "Hear Me Lord".

This week, the Beatles' greatest hits album, "1", is at number six on the USA album charts.

My favs are;

Art Of dying, specially after I got the demo versions some years ago which to me are much better than the Spector one.

Behind that locked door, not only because of Pete Drake's great performance and intro.

Ballad of SFC, great

Run of the mill, because of the lyrics (bye bye Paul)

Let it down, a pity that he put in the loud part.

We're all Apple Scruffs.

Can I tell the craziest idea I have in my mind right now, thinking about the "All Things Must Pass" album? I think that "Art Of Dying", if it's not the best, it should be on a Top-5 of the Best Solo-Beatles songs, and it's a lot better than a lot of Beatle songs that made it onto record.

OK, I said it. I feel better now. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/smile.gif

"All Things Must Pass" is definately one of the finest albums ever released. Too bad George decided to put all of his best songs on it, not saving any for the later ones.

Hey, mindgames:

"Give Me Love (Give Me Peace On Earth)"
"This Song"
"Dark Horse"
"Got My Mind Set On You"
"When We Was Fab"
"Cockamamie Business"

Just to name a few that are worth listening. (And I don't even have the albums!) http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/smile.gif

I wasn't saying that all of George's great songs were on "All Things Must Pass"! I was simply suggesting that if he hadn't used all of his impressive backlog on his first album, we might praise "Living In the Material World" or "Dark Horse" as much as we are "All Things Must Pass". Most of the songs you mentioned were written way after "All Things Must Pass" was released. I totally agree that the songs you mentioned are excellent.
