Can't remember if this has been posted here before but I thinked it's a nice companion piece to the song Any Road.


Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I--
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

It reminds me of Robert Frost's poem, "The Road Not Taken." :smile1:

That actually is Robert Frost's poem "The Road Not Taken". I really like that poem, and I never thought about it going along with "Any Road". That's really interesting. Also, just as a note, Robert Frost lived in Derry, New Hampshire. That’s near where I live, and I've driven past his house, witch is a museum now, many times. A bunch of businesses around there have named them selves after him or one of his poems too!

I'd like to pick George's cover of "If Not For You" today. I heard a Dylan group playing this over the weekend and while it was nice, I love George's version like 100,000,000 times more. I think I'm going to go listen to it RIGHT NOW. :smile1:

That's why it reminded me of "The Road Not Taken." :laugh5: As for the gem "Any Road," it fits in with that thought.

"If Not For You" is an excellent song and one that would certainly work today. I love George's version and find it intensely soothing.
