Did you ever notice that in the second
'just call on me and I'll send it along'
which is after about 26 seconds in the song, John sings 'just' call ...
whereas Paul second voice sings 'so' call ...

I had noticed that! There's another little thing similar to that in another song. It doesn't quite come to mind right this second but I'll remember soon.....

What about in Day Tripper where John or Paul sings 'One way ticket, yeah' and the other sings 'one way driver' at the same time.

Anybody heard the wrong note that Paul plays on the piano on the original album version of Let It Be - I can't believe that stayed in with the amount of takes they did (and Paul's famous perfectionism)
(from memory I think it's around one of the 'mother mary's)

In "Please, Please Me," Paul sings, "there's always rain in my heart" and John sings "pain". There are lots more of goofs like this. You'll notice on the Anthology videos that John starts "This Boy" with the word "this" and Paul sings "that." Doesn't this add even more to their appeal? I think so.

What about "I want you(she's so heavy" when Paul's playing the complicated bass arpeggio, and he's all at sea for about 3 or 4 seconds, his fingers seem to lose the plot entirely, though strangely it sounds sort of alright. He's such a fantastic bass player even his mistakes have a certain melodic charm :-)
And as far as fluffed songs go, what was "And your bird can sing" all about on Anthology 2 ?? Just the funniest thing ever!! It's a shame they didn't complete it properly, as i loved the Byrds jingly jangly arrangement they had on that early take. Though i'm glad the final Revolver arrangement made it though. It'd just have been nice to have it as a completed alternate version.

Right, Le-Mc, they did laugh when that happened and I got the distinct impression that John did it on purpose just to rattle Paul in a playful way. No other rock group prior to the Beatles ever seemed to be having so much fun on stage. They displayed such a relaxed, confident feeling -- as if they had the world by the tail!

I think it's on Anthology 1, when they're singing, 'No Reply', and John sings face instead of door, so he sang, "Cos I saw you walk in, your face."
And every time they sang face afterwards, they all cracked up!
Also, in the song Don't Let Me Down, I think it's about two and a half minute into the song, John says, "It's an E flat."

I don't believe any other band played professionally 8 hours a day in their formative years for as long as the Beatles did. Like they said on the tv show "Revolution", the Beatles taught us how to have fun in rock and roll and everybody wanted to hang out with them. Their charisma and presense was as much a part of it as anything.

Hey jtal909 and Original Fan :
GREAT Input from both of you. I "Can" relate..! I couldn't put it any better from your quotes.
What's strike me just recently, I was listening to the song "I Got A Feeling" where Paul was taking the lead singing on the first few bars, then, John come in adding his piece singing "Everybody had a Hard Year, Every had a Good Time".
It just amazed me how well John and Paul can collaborate from their early years to their last years writing together as noted.

Though I love the "No Reply" stuff, I have to agree with Ian on the "Giggle Version" of "And Your Bird Can Sing"! I often find myself in as much of a fit of giggles as they are by the end of that cut! And I too like the jangly guitars and goofy vocalizing!
Classic!

My hearing is not what it used to be either, probably too many rock concerts. It took me a while, but I definitely heard "Ohhh, Let Me Out" and it sounded like Paul was saying it. It comes near the end of the fade out and right before the next track, "Sun King".

In John singing the Walrus was Paul he was accepting that Paul was the major force in the band at the time what with magical Mystery Tour and Sgt Pepper.

Getting back to the original idea of this topic, I just thought of a few. On "Please Please Me," there's one line where John & Paul sing different things. I think it's "I know you never.." or something. But the difference is only on the stereo version..or was it mono? And then there's "I'll Get You," where they do the same thing during "When I'm going to make you mine/change your mind."
Actually, there's a whole book on this kind of stuff. And I think there's a web site somewhere in the links that covers this. It's pretty good, because it makes you go back and listen to this version or that version of things.

The whole point of Glass Onion was making fun of the then growing number of Beatles A.J. Weidrmans out there.
For those who think I'm prattling on meaninglkessly(most) A.J. Weiderman had huge books of interpetations of Bob Dylan's lyric, searching for whatever meaning he could find in them.
John was making fun oif that sort of person.

I don't have the Anthology CD's yet, but I did save up to buy the DVD collection, and one of my favorite parts is when you hear all the mess ups. They make me laugh every time. The random outburst of laughing on "And your bird can sing." Paul's "psssshhh" when he flubbed "And I Love Her." John saying "We haven't got anything in the can." Paul saying, "Yeah well see hmmm told you so." there's more but i can't remember them right now. ah, but they make me laugh.
