Okay, since you all are such George Harrison buffs, I was hoping that someone could help me out. I am sure that someone out there knows...(Rob or HC???) :wink2:
While looking through my CD collection my friend saw my Traveling Wilburys CDs. She asked me, "You have Volume 1 and Volume 3, but where is Volume 2?"
I looked at her and told her simply that there was no Volume 2. She asked me why, and I honestly have no idea why?
I am sure that this question has been asked before, but I am curious.
Thanks for your help guys!

It was just a joke, and to make people wonder like you and your friend.
There is a Volume 2 (and a Volume 4, I think), but it's a bootleg.

Actually the "Volume 2" bootleg appeared right after Volume 1, containing bootlegs from the first sessions, and under different titles!
See this page (http://www.jpgr.co.uk/mgr3.html) for more info.
According to these sources, the guys, knowing that such a release existed, opted for a more 'ironic' title. To me it's just great. :teeth1:

I do not believe there was a real reason released for not having an official Volume 2. So what I know comes from articles and books and says that it had to do with a bootleg Volume 2 already being out in the market.
Another remark was that it had to do with the change of names and Roy not being with us anymore.
Further than that, there were the fun remarks like "The tapes of Volume 2 were stolen", "It was a misprint on the artwork" and "There was such pressure to do a Volume 2 that we just went ahead and did a Volume 3".
