Cots? That's what babies sleep in over here, does it mean something different there?

Cots are folding portable beds here in the States. You know, like a rollaway.
I think this is pretty funny, considering the HUGE riders Paul puts on his contracts nowadays!

I've been in that backstage area, it's pretty boring. Just gray concrete walls. I can imagine the hi-fi sounded pretty crummy. But that's the show that Allen Ginsberg and the Beach Boys came to!
As a side note, my band had a bottle of Jack Daniels in our rider. Which meant we had to finish a bottle of Jack each night. That was not a good idea. We switched to veggies.

yep those guys were way ahead of the US as far as segregation, although, I guess I was lucky to be from an area where that was not much of a problem...

Hats off to the Beatles for frowning on segregation! Bigotry is the ONE topic that really gets my hackles up! :angry1: The Beatles respected talent and people and didn't let irrelevant things like race sidetrack them.
Lover, you live in an area where bigotry is not much of a problem? There are a lot of people I know who would love to move into your neighborhood! :smile1: Hi, neighbor!

well I was raised in an area of the country where I was not aware of color of skin/ethnicity, all were a part of my life without conditions... sorry to say I do not live there any longer....

You were lucky, Lover. If you don't mind my asking, where was that?
In an ideal world which doesn't exist, there'd be no bigotry or distinctions made and treatment of people based on their appearance (and that includes skin color); beliefs; nationality or any other excuse bigots can cook up to express dislike for people they don't even know.

Don't you just love these guys?
And clean towels... yeah. That's a must, you don't have to be a Beatle to deserve clean towels.

Revealed: Fab Four's humble backstage demands Apr 21 2005
Daily Post
THE Beatles may have been the biggest band in the world but their backstage requests were positively humble compared to today's demanding divas.
A 1965 contract unearthed by a US website reveals the Fab Four were easy to please when they toured the country at the height of their fame.
The backstage request for a stop in Portland, Oregon, asked for nothing more than a trailer with electricity and water, mirrors, four cots, an ice cooler, a television and clean towels.
The band wanted police protection, a hi-fidelity sound system and "a platform for Ringo Starr and his drums".
They requested "two Cadillac limousines (air-conditioned if possible), with chauffeurs", according to the Smoking Gun website.
However, an American journalist who joined the Beatles on every stop on their 1964 and 65 North American tour, claims the band once even travelled in a fish truck.
Larry Kane said they travelled in what was "really a fish truck and it smelled like a fish truck", almost all the way from Atlantic City to Philadelphia before transferring to a limousine.
Backstage, he claims they did not drink before shows but simply asked for "a few sandwiches and a few Cokes".
Kane, who wrote about his experiences in Ticket to Ride, said the stars may have been different touring today. He added: "They were just natural and generous people."

It was in a smaller city close to Boston, so I was very fortunate to have grown up there!
