Well, The Beatles are alive and well in Italy. The new CD was prominently displayed in every music store I went into. And I would hear snippets of songs here and there as I walked along the streets.
But the greatest tribute to the band came late one night in my hotel room. I was flipping around the 3 channels that I could get, and they had this strange kind of stip show. Girl after girl would come out and dance and strip to music. It sounded like MIDI files. You know, really cheaply done. Anyway, all of sudden I hear "Yesterday" and then "Something." It kind of put the songs in perspective. I'm not sure if McCartney was thinking of a stripper when he wrote "Yesterday," but oh well.
