When you are a bit down, which is, or are, the Harrisong(s) that will always cheer you up, any time of day

For me there are a few which will always turn my mood to the right one again... first I think of George's wise words of Beware Of Darkness.. and then I play one or more of the following;

Blow Away
This Is Love
Heading For The Light
You
That Which I Have Lost
Inside Out (the video)

"Cheer down" actually has the reverse effect on me... I can't help but focuss on the fact that he's dealing with someone who needs to be "cheered up", in the first place.

One that does always works, for me, is "This is love"... apart from the music and the , oh, so positive lyrics...

... at the base of it... there's sooooooooo much "joy" in George's voice on that one !

A bit like Paul on "Getting better", you can actually "hear" George smilling when you play that song...

Anyroad always cheers me up. As does Heading For The Light and This Is Love.

Good grief, where do I start?
Hear Me Lord

Forgive me Lord, for all those years that I've ignored you?

I must be sick, I see that song as being very reflexive, but not very uplifting, really. It's one of my faves off ATMP, but I wouldn't put it in the same group as, say, "This Is Love", "Blow Away", "If Not For You", "Crackerbox Palace" or "Soft-Hearted Hana". :smile1:

I find it uplifting because it is the voice of one who is coming to God, one who is seeking God. True, it can be interpreted as reflexive and no doubt it is, but there is a powerfully uplifting element in it. Asking for God's help is to me a very empowering thing one can do and acknowledging that need; showing that humility and acknowledging the Lord are things I deeply respect.

One song of George's that really cheers me up is Teardrops, from Somewhere In England. That's a really cheerful, happy, bouncy, fun song. It's one of my favorites of George's. Also Blow Away is another and Crackerbox Palace. Plus a lot more

I've had to think about this one for a while. I admit 'If Not For You' has always made me a little teary instead of cheering me up. It's an incredibly great song, but to me it sounds so sad at the same time.
Some of the songs that put a smile on my face are: "What Is Life", "Anyroad", "Taxman", "Apple Scruffs", and "Blow Away". :smile1:

That's another good choice, Hari's Chick.

I also really love "Love Comes To Everyone" and I find that a very inspiring and optimistic song indeed.
